How We Build Our Guides

Last updated: 2026-10-16

AION2 Vault is a data-first guide site for AION 2 on the Global servers. Our guides do not ask you to trust one player's opinion: they show what the public builds actually run, what the game data says each skill does, and what named creators recommend, with every source linked. This page explains how that works and where its limits are.

Where our data comes from

  • Game data. Skill effects, specialization options, stigma effects, Daevanion nodes and item stats come from the Global client data published in questlog.gg’s skill builder.
  • Public builds. Usage numbers come from the public Global skill builds and character builds players publish on questlog.gg. For the macro guides we read 6,322 public Global skill builds on 2026-10-14.
  • Named creators. Rotations, priorities and the reasons behind them come from the players who published them, in videos, build notes and guides. Each one is credited by name, with a link to the original.

How we count

  • Skill and stigma shares count only the skills placed on the skill bar, among the public builds that slot at least one stigma. Build planners often list stigmas that are levelled but not equipped, so counting every listed skill overstates them. We switched to this method on 2026-10-11 and recounted every class page.
  • Macro shares are shares of the public builds that save a macro. A macro step on questlog.gg names one skill, but the game uses the whole skill chain that skill sits in, so we count chains, not single skills.
  • Gear pages count the most common items and enhancement levels in public Global character builds, and say so when many of them are copies of one player’s build.
  • Daevanion board maps are drawn from the client’s node data. The highlighted route is a named player’s public build. The data has node positions but not the links between nodes, so we draw only that build’s own route.
  • Likes and dates. Likes and build counts change daily, so each page gives the date we read them.

The numbers have limits, and the pages say so where they matter. questlog.gg lists at most 900 builds per class, which cut off part of the Gladiator, Assassin and Cleric builds when we read them on 2026-10-14. Public builds come from players who chose to publish them; some are plans rather than played characters, and many copy a popular creator’s build. A share tells you what people run, not what is proven best.

How we use creator guides

  • Every point taken from a creator is credited to them by name, with a link to the video or build.
  • Where creators disagree, the guide shows both sides and who holds each, instead of picking one silently.
  • Numbers that appear only in a creator’s video, such as a cooldown they measured or a damage test, are written as that creator’s claim, not as game data.

How the guides are written

The guides are written with AI assistance. We decide what each page covers and which sources it uses; an AI drafts the page from those sources; then every number, skill effect and quote is checked against the game data, the public builds or the creator’s own words before the page goes live. No number or game fact on this site comes from an AI’s own knowledge: each one comes from the client data, a count we ran on the public builds, or a named creator.

What we don't do

  • We do not test builds in the game ourselves. Each guide says so, and we would rather show the data than claim experience we don’t have.
  • We do not invent numbers, codes or patch notes. If something can’t be sourced, it isn’t on the page.
  • We are not paid by the creators we cite, and no placement on this site is sponsored.

How guides stay current

Every guide shows the game version it was checked against and the date it was last updated. When a patch or new data changes a number, we recount and update the page. Corrections and other substantive changes are listed in the Update history at the end of each guide, with the date.

Corrections

Every guide ends with a Report a correction button. You can also email us at [email protected]. Send the page link and what changed. We check each report against the game data, fix the page, and note the fix in its update history.
