FAQ

What is the best Assassin build in AION 2 right now?
Illusive Clone, Swift Contract and Triniel’s Dagger as stigmas, with Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion and Quick Slice at skill level 16 and Savage Roar feeding them Insignias. That is the core of Grobs’ “Assassin - Goal Early 45” build, the most-liked level 45 Assassin build on questlog.gg, and of delcatta’s endgame goal build. The fourth stigma is the main point where builds differ.
Should I run Savage Fang or Evasion Stance?
Savage Fang if you want damage, Evasion Stance if you keep dying. Savage Fang is in 67% of public builds and opens every fight with five Insignias. Evasion Stance (32%) evades all damage for a moment and restores MP and Stamina. Nellan97 runs Evasion Stance until Savage Fang reaches stigma level 15, and l4z4i keeps it at 20 in his endgame build.
Why do some Assassin builds list six stigmas?
Build planners record every stigma a player has levelled, not only the four equipped ones. s0nderr_’s “1400+” build, for example, has Illusive Clone, Swift Contract, Triniel’s Dagger, Savage Fang, Evasion Stance and Smoke Bomb all at level 10. On Global you equip four at a time.
Should Assassin core skills go to 16 or 20?
Aim for 16 first. Level 16 unlocks the key specializations: Heart Gore resets on a crit, Insignia Explosion loses 3 seconds of cooldown, and Quick Slice always crits. Grobs and delcatta stop there. Nellan97 then pushes all three to 20, and j0ei’s Global build lists every active skill at 20, but those extra levels must come from ring lines and Arcana.
What is the best Assassin build for PvP?
There is no settled one yet. j0ei’s Global PvP build runs Illusive Clone, Triniel’s Dagger, Shadowstep and Spiral Slice as stigmas. His note: open with Illusive Clone, Shadowstrike and Triniel’s Dagger, then use Shadowstep when you are pressured and re-open with Spiral Slice. This guide focuses on PvE.
Is the best Assassin build good for a beginner?
Mostly, yes. Grobs keeps his leveling build to one macro line and says the class only has two tricky parts: timing the self-buffs and staying behind the boss. If you are still learning boss fights, take Evasion Stance as your fourth stigma, as Nellan97 recommends to new Assassins.

What is the best Assassin build in AION 2?

The best Assassin build rests on three stigmas almost every build shares: Illusive Clone, Swift Contract and Triniel’s Dagger. Its damage comes from Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion and Quick Slice at skill level 16, with Savage Roar stacking Insignias for them. The real choices are the fourth stigma and how far you push each skill:

Part Best pick Why
Core damage Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion, Quick Slice at 16 Level 16 unlocks the crit reset, −3s Explosion cooldown and guaranteed crits
Insignia builder Savage Roar at 12 It only needs to stack Insignias; 12 is Grobs’ and Nellan97’s target
Stigmas 1–3 Illusive Clone, Swift Contract, Triniel’s Dagger 96%, 89% and 83% of 513 public builds
First stigma to 20 Illusive Clone Grobs, delcatta and alan218 all max it; Grobs takes Triniel’s Dagger to 10 first
Stigma 4 (damage) Savage Fang Five Insignias in one hit, so even your first Explosion fires at full stacks
Stigma 4 (safety) Evasion Stance A short window in which all damage misses you
Stagger windows Storm Rampage at 16 Each hit cuts all cooldowns by 1s; three of the five builds below push it to 16

This page compares the builds behind that answer. For skill specializations, the macro and the burst opener, use the Assassin PvE build.

How do the top-rated Assassin builds compare?

The most-liked public Assassin builds on questlog.gg (Global) share the three core stigmas and differ in the fourth slot and in how high they push each skill. Likes were checked on 2026-10-09. Only Grobs’ builds have more than a handful of likes, so treat the others as worked examples rather than votes.

Build (author) Likes Stigmas levelled Core skill levels Built for
“Assassin - Goal Early 45” (Grobs) 27 Illusive Clone 20, Savage Fang 15, Swift Contract 15, Triniel’s Dagger 10 Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion, Quick Slice, Storm Rampage 16; Savage Roar 12 A fresh level 45 character
“1400+” skill build with the “1900 (Transcendence S2)” character (s0nderr_) 5 and 73 Illusive Clone, Swift Contract, Triniel’s Dagger, Savage Fang, Evasion Stance, Smoke Bomb, all 10 Every active except Shadow Fall and Defiance at 12 1,400+ gear score
“PvE DPS - goal” (delcatta) 1 Illusive Clone 20, Swift Contract 20, Savage Fang 15, Triniel’s Dagger 10 Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion, Quick Slice, Savage Roar, Storm Rampage, Ambush 16 Endgame PvE
“YurikoYuki (Endgame)” (l4z4i) 1 Illusive Clone, Swift Contract, Evasion Stance, all 20 Quick Slice, Storm Rampage 16; Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion, Savage Roar 14 Endgame PvE
“Assassin PvE Boss” (alan218) 2 Illusive Clone 20, Swift Contract 15, Triniel’s Dagger 10, Evasion Stance 5 Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion, Savage Roar, Shadowstrike 16; Quick Slice 15; Storm Rampage 14 Boss fights

s0nderr_’s character build is the most-liked Assassin character build on questlog.gg by a wide margin. His skill build spreads levels evenly instead of maxing a few skills, which keeps every option open while gear is still low. Across the 513 public Assassin skill builds that slot stigmas, the shares follow the same pattern: Illusive Clone 96%, Swift Contract 89%, Triniel’s Dagger 83%, Savage Fang 67% and Evasion Stance 32%.

Savage Fang or Evasion Stance for the fourth slot?

Savage Fang for damage, Evasion Stance while you learn the fights. Both scale well with stigma levels, but in different directions. The client data lists these upgrades:

Savage Fang Evasion Stance
Base effect Hits up to 4 enemies and engraves 5 Insignias; 50 Stagger damage Evades all damage for a brief moment; restores 110 MP and Stamina once on an evade
Level 5 — Usable twice in a row
Level 10 Stagger damage doubles to 100 Can be used while moving
Level 15 +10% PvE Damage Boost for 10s on hit +20% Move Speed for 3s
Level 20 Always lands as a critical hit Also restores 10% HP on an evade
Share of public builds 67% 32%

Savage Fang pays off from the first pull. Grobs puts it at the front of his macro, so the first Insignia Explosion of every fight fires into five stacks. Its 100 Stagger damage from level 10 is also the largest Stagger value in the Assassin kit. Evasion Stance does no damage, but it keeps you on the boss’s back through attacks you would otherwise have to walk away from. Nellan97 recommends it to every new Assassin and runs it himself until Savage Fang reaches level 15.

The other stigmas are niche picks. Smoke Bomb (15%) blinds a target for 5 seconds, and s0nderr_ levels it alongside the other five. alan218’s separate farming build runs Aerial Bind, which launches targets Airborne and is guaranteed to at five Insignias.

How high should an Assassin push each skill?

Level 16 on Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion and Quick Slice is the goal every build shares. That is where their key specializations unlock. Beyond that, the builds above split three ways:

  • Stop at 16 (Grobs, delcatta). Skill points take a skill to 10 and the Daevanion boards add four more. delcatta’s notes list where the last two come from: skill lines on crafted rings and the Parchment Arcana card.
  • Push the core to 20 (Nellan97). His PvE guide continues all three skills to 20 after 16. That needs more skill lines from gear, so it is a long-term target.
  • Spread levels evenly (s0nderr_). Every active at 12 and every stigma at 10 is a balanced mid-game setup. It unlocks two specializations on each active skill without the cost of pushing any one of them to 16.

Storm Rampage is the second question. Grobs, delcatta and l4z4i take it to 16 for its −1s cooldown cut on every hit, which Nellan97 calls the main difference between Global and Taiwan builds. s0nderr_ leaves it at 12 with the rest.

Which Assassin build fits your situation?

Pick the build that matches where you are:

  • Leveling to 45: Grobs’ “Assassin - Leveling” build, the most-liked Assassin skill build on questlog.gg (46 likes). Core skills at 12 and a single macro line.
  • Just reached 45: Grobs’ “Goal Early 45”. Take Triniel’s Dagger to 10, then Illusive Clone to 20, then Swift Contract and Savage Fang to 15.
  • Mid game, around 1,400 gear score: s0nderr_’s “1400+” build. It levels six stigmas to 10, which leaves the fourth slot open to Savage Fang, Evasion Stance or Smoke Bomb.
  • Endgame PvE: delcatta’s goal build for maximum damage with Savage Fang, or l4z4i’s endgame build if you prefer Evasion Stance at 20.
  • Farming versus bosses: alan218 keeps two builds. His boss build maxes Illusive Clone; his farming build puts Triniel’s Dagger at 20 and adds Aerial Bind.
  • PvP: j0ei’s Global PvP build. Compared with the PvE core, it drops Swift Contract and Savage Fang for Shadowstep and Spiral Slice.

What gear and Daevanion go with the best build?

The build needs Heart Gore, Insignia Explosion and Quick Slice at 16, so gear matters as much as skill points. Four of those levels come from the Assassin Daevanion boards, and the rest from skill lines on rings and Arcana, which the Assassin gear guide covers. Every Assassin page is linked from the Assassin builds hub. To compare the Assassin with other classes, see the AION 2 classes overview.
