FAQ

What is the best Gladiator build in AION 2 right now?
Rage Burst, Zikel’s Blessing and Lunge Stance as stigmas, with Rending Blow, Overhead Slam and Ruinous Blow as your core damage. All four of the most-liked public Gladiator skill builds on questlog.gg share those three stigmas. Only the fourth stigma differs.
Should my fourth stigma be Focused Block or Lifestealing Blade?
Focused Block if you tank dungeons. Its guaranteed parry triggers Experienced Counterstrike, which buffs your whole party. Lifestealing Blade if you mostly play solo or need sustain, since it absorbs 10% HP from up to four enemies. Focused Block appears in about 55% of public builds and Lifestealing Blade in about 35%.
Which stigma should I level to 20 first?
Top builds split on this. Grobs takes Lunge Stance to 20, where critical hits have a 50% chance to cut all cooldowns by 1 second. Netero takes Rage Burst to 20, where its PvE Damage Boost doubles from 10% to 20%. Lunge Stance favors steady uptime, while Rage Burst favors bigger burst windows.
Is there a best Gladiator build for PvP?
Not a settled one yet. Guides that cover PvP, such as Expcarry’s, keep the same core and add tools like Blade Toss (−30% Defense and −50% Incoming Heal on the target), Tenaciousness for a few seconds of immunity, and Defiance to break crowd control. This guide focuses on PvE, where the community data is much deeper.
Is the best Gladiator build good for a beginner?
Yes. The core is simple: three self-buffs and one macro of Rage Burst, Overhead Slam and Rending Blow. Grobs’ leveling build, the most-liked Gladiator skill build, is designed to be followed from the start and only needs skill levels 8 to 12.

What is the best Gladiator build in AION 2?

The best Gladiator build is built on three stigmas every top build shares: Rage Burst, Zikel’s Blessing and Lunge Stance. Its core damage comes from Rending Blow, Overhead Slam and Ruinous Blow. The fourth stigma is the only real choice, and it depends on what you do:

Part Best pick Why
Core damage Rending Blow, Overhead Slam, Ruinous Blow Each is on 97–98% of skill bars in public Gladiator builds
Stigma 1–3 Rage Burst, Zikel’s Blessing, Lunge Stance All four of the most-liked builds run them
Stigma 4 (party tank) Focused Block Guaranteed parry; triggers your party damage buff
Stigma 4 (solo) Lifestealing Blade Absorbs 10% HP from up to 4 enemies
Stigma 4 (group DPS) Blade Toss −30% Defense on the boss for 10s
Macro Rage Burst → Overhead Slam → Rending Blow Grobs’ one-line macro; the PvE build covers the alternatives

This page compares the builds behind that answer. For skill-by-skill setup, specializations and the boss opener, use the Gladiator PvE build.

How do the top Gladiator builds compare?

The four most-liked Gladiator skill builds on questlog.gg (Global) agree on three stigmas and on high levels for the core skills. They differ on which stigma they push to level 20 and what goes in the fourth slot.

Build (author) Likes Fourth stigma Stigma pushed highest Core skill levels
Gladiator – Leveling (Grobs) 26 Focused Block none yet (all level 1) 12
Gladiator – Goal Early 45 (Grobs) 21 Focused Block Lunge Stance 20 16
Netero (maksimvladimirov) 14 Lifestealing Blade Rage Burst 20 14–16
Ulf’s Gladiator PvE DPS (Ulfhednar) 8 Blade Toss Lunge Stance 15 16–20

Like counts checked on 2026-10-08. Netero is also the most-liked Gladiator character build on questlog.gg (78 likes), which makes it the main alternative to Grobs’ setup.

Across the 462 public Gladiator skill builds that slot stigmas, the shares follow the same pattern: Lunge Stance 93%, Rage Burst 93%, Zikel’s Blessing 92%, Focused Block 55%, Lifestealing Blade 35% and Blade Toss 15%.

Which fourth stigma should a Gladiator take?

Take Focused Block if you tank, Lifestealing Blade if you play solo, and Blade Toss if someone else is tanking and you want to raise the whole group’s damage. All three effects below come from the client data.

  • Focused Block (55% of builds): guarantees a parry with 100% Block Damage Reduction and restores 110 MP and Stamina on parry. From stigma level 5 it can be used twice in a row. The parry also triggers Experienced Counterstrike, which gives you and your party a PvE Damage Boost for 20 seconds. That makes it the tank’s choice.
  • Lifestealing Blade (35%): hits up to four enemies within 4m and absorbs 10% HP, plus 20 Stagger Gauge Damage. It suits solo farming and players who keep dropping low.
  • Blade Toss (15%): hits a target up to 20m away, then cuts its Defense by 30% and its Incoming Heal by 50% for 10 seconds. The Defense cut helps everyone hitting that boss, so it is a group-DPS pick.

Lunge Stance 20 or Rage Burst 20?

The two most-liked approaches disagree on which stigma to max first. Both are valid, and the client data shows what each one buys:

Lunge Stance to 20 (Grobs) Rage Burst to 20 (Netero)
What level 20 adds 50% chance on each critical hit to cut all skill cooldowns by 1s PvE Damage Boost from Rage Burst rises from 10% to 20%
Other perks on the way +5% Double Chance (5), +20% Move Speed (10), ×1.5 Identify Weakness (15) Enemy Attack −20% (10), Rage Burst always crits (15)
Playstyle Steady: buffs and Rage Burst come back almost constantly Bursty: bigger damage spikes in each Rage Burst window

According to Grobs, Lunge Stance at 20 gives near-permanent uptime on all buffs, including Rage Burst. That keeps Overhead Slam available almost all the time. If you prefer front-loaded burst, especially in shorter fights, Netero’s Rage Burst route is the alternative.

Grobs — The Only Gladiator PvE Guide You Need

Which Gladiator build fits your situation?

Choose by what you spend most of your time doing:

  • Leveling to 45: Grobs’ Leveling build. Core skills to 12, the four standard stigmas at level 1, and nothing that needs gear.
  • Tanking dungeons: Grobs’ Goal Early 45 build with Focused Block, so you can parry the boss’s first hit for the party buff.
  • Solo farming and open world: Netero’s Lifestealing Blade setup. Netero also takes Leaping Slam to 20; with its level 8 specialization, Leaping Slam’s cooldown resets every time you defeat an enemy.
  • DPS in a group with a Templar: Ulfhednar’s Blade Toss build. It lowers boss Defense for everyone and leaves the tanking to the Templar.

What gear and Daevanion go with the best build?

The stigmas only work if your core skills are high enough. Overhead Slam and Rending Blow at level 16 are the main goal at 45. Up to four of those levels come from the Daevanion boards. The rest come from gear and Arcana; see the Gladiator gear guide for what to equip. Every Gladiator page is linked from the Gladiator builds hub.
