FAQ

What weapon does the Cleric use?
A mace; the game data files warhammers under maces too. In questlog.gg’s gear statistics for 451 public Cleric character builds, the most common weapon is the Splendent Wise Dragon Lord Mace (28%, mostly planned endgame sets at +20), followed by the Enraged Kromede Warhammer and the Spiritforged Mace (20% each).
Is the Cleric a healer or a damage dealer?
Both, and creators push damage harder than you might expect. BoredAF, who cleared Taiwan’s PvE content as a Cleric, calls it a damage class where healing is secondary: in a group that knows the fights, you spend most of the time debuffing and attacking. Your heals still matter when someone gets caught by a mechanic.
Can the Cleric resurrect other players?
Yes, with the Summon Resurrection stigma, which revives a fallen party member within 40m. Th3Ruthless notes that the Cleric is the only class with a resurrection, so groups will ask for it. It costs one of your four stigma slots, which is why damage builds often leave it out; 24% of public builds put it on the skill bar.
Should a Cleric use Light of Protection with a Chanter?
No. The game’s own skill text says Light of Protection does not stack with the damage boost from the Chanter’s Undefeated Mantra, and only the higher-level effect applies. Th3Ruthless, Lucia, whelps and aLuckyRO all swap it out when a Chanter is in the party, for Absolution, Benevolence, Summon Resurrection or Yustiel’s Power.
Do Cleric heals scale with Attack?
Yes. The Healing Enhancement passive raises your Heal Boost by a share of your Attack, so Attack is both your damage and your healing stat. Th3Ruthless and Lucia both build for Attack for that reason. MrRosaPony adds that heals cannot land as critical hits, so crit stats only help your damage.
Is the Cleric good for new players?
Yes, with one caveat. aLuckyRO calls the Cleric very strong in the early game, and the core damage runs from a single macro key. But new groups make more mistakes, so BoredAF expects you to do more healing at launch than later, when parties know the mechanics.

What is the best Cleric build in AION 2?

The standard Cleric build is a damage-support hybrid. Its damage comes from Condemnation, kept on a loop by Earth Punishment, and its stigmas are Earth Punishment, Light of Protection, Prayer of Amplification and Noble Aura. Those four are the most common stigmas in public Cleric builds on questlog.gg, and the public builds of MrRosaPony, Th3Ruthless and whelps all start from them. When a Chanter joins your party, Light of Protection makes way for another stigma.

Each part of the build has its own guide:

Guide What it covers
Cleric PvE build Stigmas for your party, skill levels and specializations, the macro, and when to heal
Cleric Daevanion build What each of the five boards holds, and three public boards compared
Best Cleric build The most-liked builds compared, when a full support build pays off, and the PvP stigma bar
Cleric gear guide What Clerics wear in every slot, the best mace, an upgrade path by gear score, gear lines and the Arcana mix

How does the Cleric deal damage?

Almost all of it comes through one loop: Chain of Torment, then Condemnation, over and over. Th3Ruthless calls Condemnation the Cleric’s most important skill, and every other creator we checked treats it as the main source of damage. The client data explains why the loop works:

  1. Chain of Torment marks the target. Condemnation can only be used on a target that has it.
  2. Condemnation resets its own cooldown whenever it lands a critical hit, once it reaches skill level 12.
  3. Earth Punishment, a stigma, makes Condemnation land as a critical hit on targets it has hit, from stigma level 5. While it is up, every Condemnation crits, and every crit resets it.

Around that loop, Debilitating Mark and Chain of Torment weaken the target for the whole party, Divine Aura and the Noble Aura stigma attack alongside you, and Judgment Thunder adds a second damage skill. Bolt is a charge skill for burst, and Earth’s Retribution, your basic attack, restores MP and can cut Bolt’s cooldown. How the creators put all this into one macro key is covered in the Cleric PvE build.

How does Cleric healing work?

The Cleric has three healing skills, two healing stigmas worth slotting and a passive that heals for you. In the client data, each one has a clear job:

  • Light of Regeneration: heals you and every party member within 40m every 2 seconds for 30 seconds. Creators keep it running all the time.
  • Healing Light: a quick heal on you and the party member with the lowest HP. From skill level 8 you can cast it three times in a row.
  • Radiant Recovery: heals the whole party and removes a debuff, or two with its first specialization. Th3Ruthless uses it mainly to cleanse.
  • Absolution and Benevolence (stigmas): Absolution is a large party heal that removes debuffs; Benevolence heals the party every 2 seconds for 20 seconds.
  • Radiant Benediction (passive): heals the party within 40m when you land an attack, at most every 5 seconds. aLuckyRO says that in easier fights it keeps the party healthy almost on its own.

Healing scales with Attack: the Healing Enhancement passive turns a share of your Attack into Heal Boost. That is why every creator gears a Cleric for Attack rather than for healing stats.

Which stigmas do Clerics slot most?

Four stigmas lead clearly: Light of Protection, Earth Punishment, Prayer of Amplification and Noble Aura. These shares count only the stigmas placed on the skill bar: many public builds also list stigmas they have levelled but not equipped, or none at all. On 2026-10-11, 556 of the 887 public Cleric skill builds on questlog.gg had at least one stigma on the bar, and 475 of them had exactly four.

Stigma Share of 556 builds What it does
Light of Protection 83% Toggle: +10.5% PvE Damage Boost and PvE Damage Tolerance for you and nearby party members; does not stack with the Chanter’s Undefeated Mantra
Earth Punishment 81% Damage over time; Condemnation always crits on its target (level 5); party buff Earth’s Blessing (level 10)
Noble Aura 63% Summons an aura for 300s that follows you and attacks your target
Prayer of Amplification 63% +20% Attack for 10s; more PvE Damage Boost and stronger damage passives at higher levels
Absolution 24% Large party heal within 40m that removes up to 2 debuffs
Summon Resurrection 24% Revives a fallen party member within 40m
Benevolence 22% Heals the party every 2s for 20s
Yustiel’s Power 15% +20% PvE Damage Tolerance for the party for 10s
Salvation 13% Makes you immune to damage and status effects for 3s
Voice of Doom 10% Cuts enemy Incoming Heal and HP Potion Recovery by 60% for 20s
Power Burst 3% Single-target hit with 50 Stagger damage

Root and Assault Mark appear in 1% each. On Global you equip four. aLuckyRO lists the slot unlocks as character levels 22, 27, 32 and 37.

Which active skills appear in most Cleric builds?

Ten of the twelve actives are in almost every build, because each one has a job in the damage loop or in healing. Only two are optional:

Active skill Share of 556 builds
Radiant Recovery 97%
Light of Regeneration 97%
Chain of Torment 97%
Earth’s Retribution 97%
Healing Light 97%
Condemnation 96%
Debilitating Mark 96%
Divine Aura 95%
Bolt 95%
Judgment Thunder 92%
Lightning Strike Scattershot 53%
Defiance 10%

Lightning Strike Scattershot only works on a staggered target, and the creators disagree about it. MrRosaPony calls it a bait that deals less than his macro; Lucia takes it to 16 for its cooldown cut. Bolt is debated in a similar way, as the Cleric PvE build explains.

What does every Cleric skill do?

The Cleric has 35 skills: 12 actives, 13 stigmas and 10 passives. The descriptions below summarize the Global client data. Damage and healing numbers are left out because they scale with skill level, and specializations change several of these effects.

Is the Cleric a healer or a damage dealer?

A damage dealer that heals when the party needs it. That is the view of every creator we checked, and the build reflects it: three of the four most common stigmas add damage. BoredAF, who reached Supreme Commander in the Abyss on Taiwan, says the Cleric’s first job is keeping every debuff on the boss all the time, so the damage dealers can go all out. In a group that knows the fights, he spends most of his time debuffing and attacking.

Th3Ruthless draws the same line between two ways to play. A damage build trusts the party to dodge mechanics and needs players who know the fights. A full support build swaps the damage stigmas for heals and Resurrection, for groups that keep dying. MrRosaPony adds that a damage-focused Cleric can still do the full support job.
