FAQ

Which Spiritmaster skills should you level first?
Combustion, Elemental Fusion, the Fire Spirit and Cold Shock. init.rb’s most-liked PvE build puts them first in its priority list, followed by Jointstrike: Curse, Rapid Scattershot and Dimensional Control, and Grobs’s level 45 build has Combustion, Elemental Fusion and the Fire Spirit at 16. aLuckyRO adds Jointstrike: Curse and Dimensional Control to his level 12 targets.
Should a Spiritmaster use the Wind Spirit?
While leveling, yes; later, most creators drop it. Every spirit uses its skill as it appears, so four summons guarantee an Elemental Fusion. aLuckyRO removes the Wind Spirit once the other three use skills often enough on their own, Hemi leaves it out of his macros, and OneTimeACraft says you never use it in PvE.
Should Elemental Fusion be a charge skill?
The creators split. Its level 12 option turns it into a charge skill dealing up to 200% more damage, and aLuckyRO keeps it: in his test, a full charge took a hit from about 7,000 to 21,000 damage. A macro does not hold the charge, so he casts it by hand. init.rb, Grobs’s level 45 build and Tsuruf skip the charge option for the extra-damage, Element Boost or Four Elements options, and Grobs and Tsuruf run Elemental Fusion in their macros.
Should a Spiritmaster take Flame Blessing or Destructive Attack?
Either can fill the fourth stigma slot. Flame Blessing, a 10-second chance of extra damage on every hit, is what aLuckyRO, Grobs and Tsuruf run. Jointstrike: Destructive Attack is init.rb’s pick: at stigma level 20 its first hit resets Jointstrike: Curse and Jointstrike: Corrode. OneTimeACraft plans to add Destructive Attack if more stigma slots ever arrive.
Which stigma should a Spiritmaster level first?
Summon: Ancient Spirit. At level 15 it uses its skill after 5 basic attacks instead of 7, and every use grants Four Elements, so you cast Elemental Fusion more often. aLuckyRO calls it your top stigma priority, and init.rb’s plan takes it to 15 and then 20 before finishing Spirit’s Benediction and Corrode.
Which passives should a PvE Spiritmaster level?
Spirit Strike first: every creator we checked ranks it at the top, for +6% PvE Damage Boost for you and your spirit. After that they differ. Hemi, Tsuruf and OneTimeACraft level Element Unification and Spirit Revitalization; aLuckyRO leaves Element Unification and Corrode for later, because you rarely crit early. Mental Focus is the main disagreement.

What is the best Spiritmaster PvE build right now?

The PvE Spiritmaster on Global keeps three spirits out, buffs them, and spends the elements their skills generate on Elemental Fusion. The table is the whole build at a glance; each section below explains one part.

Part What to do
Skills first Combustion, Elemental Fusion, Fire Spirit and Cold Shock, then Jointstrike: Curse and Dimensional Control
Spirits Fire, Water and Earth; Wind only while leveling
Stigmas Spirit’s Benediction, Ancient Spirit, Corrode, plus Flame Blessing or Destructive Attack
Stigma levels Ancient Spirit first, to 15 and then 20
Opener Buffs, then the Ancient Spirit, then Elemental Fusion as soon as it is ready
Macro The spirits, Cold Shock and the damage skills; buffs by hand
Passives Spirit Strike first

Which skills should a PvE Spiritmaster level first?

Combustion, Elemental Fusion, the Fire Spirit and Cold Shock, then the rest of the damage kit. Three public builds show the progression, from finishing the main story to a full late-game target:

Skill Job in the build Level 16 specialization init.rb, level 45 Grobs, level 45 init.rb, PvE Variant 1
Combustion Area Fire damage Adds the Ashy Call chain 14 16 20
Elemental Fusion Biggest hit; needs Four Elements 25% chance to regain Four Elements 14 16 20
Summon: Fire Spirit Area spirit, 15% skill chance +20% Fire Spirit stats 14 16 16
Cold Shock Basic attack; restores MP 10% chance to remove a buff 14 12 12
Jointstrike: Curse Spirit joins the hit; damage over time Ignores Block and Evasion, always crits 14 12 12
Dimensional Control Cast as spirits use skills; restores MP 30% Root chance 13 12 12
Summon: Water Spirit Restores your MP +20% Water Spirit stats 12 12 10
Summon: Earth Spirit Draws enemies’ attention +20% Earth Spirit stats 13 12 10
Rapid Scattershot Hits staggered targets only −1s on all cooldowns per hit 13 16 16

init.rb’s builds are the most-liked Spiritmaster builds on questlog.gg, and 15 other players have published his “SM PVE build Variant 1” under the same name. Its priority list runs Combustion, Elemental Fusion, Fire Spirit, Cold Shock, Jointstrike: Curse, Rapid Scattershot and Dimensional Control. Grobs’s leveling order starts Combustion, Cold Shock, Fire Spirit, Elemental Fusion. aLuckyRO calls Cold Shock his number one priority, because you spam it and it restores MP, and wants Jointstrike: Curse and Dimensional Control at level 12 as high priorities. He ranks Soul’s Cry, a Fear skill, lowest for PvE.

Skill points take a skill to 10, and the Daevanion boards add up to four more. OneTimeACraft gets the rest from gear and Arcana cards.

Which specializations should you pick?

Active skills unlock specialization options at levels 8, 12 and 16, and you choose which ones to equip. The creators agree on most of them:

  • Cold Shock: +2% Attack per Earth Tremor hit, up to 5 stacks (12) for everyone. At 8, init.rb, Tsuruf and OneTimeACraft take +50% Multi-Hit; aLuckyRO and Grobs take +20% MP restored, and aLuckyRO adds the Multi-Hit once the skill reaches 20. Tsuruf stacks this buff before every fight.
  • Combustion: up to 12% more damage when fewer targets are hit (8) and +20% Skill Speed (12). aLuckyRO starts with −20% MP cost instead and swaps to Skill Speed after about a week, or back if MP runs short. At 16, init.rb, Grobs, Hemi and OneTimeACraft add the Ashy Call chain.
  • Elemental Fusion: extra damage after 3 seconds and +10 all Element Boost (8) for init.rb, Tsuruf and OneTimeACraft; Grobs’s level 45 build pairs Element Boost with the level 16 25% chance to regain Four Elements. The level 12 charge option divides them: see below.
  • Dimensional Control: extra damage after 3 seconds and +50% Multi-Hit (8), from every creator we checked. aLuckyRO says the delayed damage matters most in long boss fights.
  • Jointstrike: Curse: −2s cooldown (12) for aLuckyRO, init.rb and OneTimeACraft. For level 8, aLuckyRO takes +2s Curse duration, init.rb and OneTimeACraft casting while moving, and Hemi and Tsuruf Multi-Hit and casting while moving.
  • Fire, Water and Earth Spirits: 10% chance to use the spirit’s skill when its attack lands (8), on all three for most creators. aLuckyRO explains why: it raises the Fire and Water Spirits’ chance from 15% to 25%, and more spirit skills mean more Elemental Fusions. The second pick is +20% Fire Spirit Critical Hit damage, +10% Water Spirit Attack and +20% Earth Spirit PvE Damage Tolerance; Grobs takes −50% MP cost on the Earth Spirit. At 16, +20% to that spirit’s stats.
  • Rapid Scattershot: aLuckyRO picks HP absorb if you take hits from boss mechanics, MP restore if you dodge them, or casting while moving. init.rb’s Variant 1 takes Multi-Hit and the level 16 cooldown cut.

Which stigmas should a PvE Spiritmaster run?

Enhance: Spirit’s Benediction, Summon: Ancient Spirit and Jointstrike: Corrode, plus one of two damage stigmas:

Setup Stigmas Source
Flame Blessing Spirit’s Benediction, Ancient Spirit, Corrode, Flame Blessing aLuckyRO, Grobs (level 45), Tsuruf, init.rb (Variant 2)
Destructive Attack Spirit’s Benediction, Ancient Spirit, Corrode, Destructive Attack init.rb (Variant 1 and level 45)

Flame Blessing gives you a 50% chance of extra damage on every hit for 10 seconds. aLuckyRO notes that it buffs only you, while Spirit’s Benediction buffs your spirits too. Jointstrike: Destructive Attack is a single-target hit with 50 Stagger damage that becomes a charge skill at level 5; at level 20, its first hit resets Jointstrike: Curse and Jointstrike: Corrode, and init.rb’s Variant 1 takes it there. In public builds, Flame Blessing is on 39% of skill bars and Destructive Attack on 35%.

The stigma slots open one at a time while you level: aLuckyRO lists levels 22, 27, 32 and 37. He slots the Ancient Spirit first, then Corrode and Spirit’s Benediction in whichever order feels safer (Benediction also heals), and Flame Blessing last.

Stigma levels. The Ancient Spirit comes first for aLuckyRO, who wants it at 15 as soon as possible: from there it uses its skill after 5 basic attacks instead of 7, and every use grants Four Elements. init.rb’s Variant 1 notes give a full order: at character level 45, the Ancient Spirit, Benediction and Corrode at 5 and Destructive Attack at 7; then Destructive Attack to 10; then the Ancient Spirit to 15, Benediction to 10 and Destructive Attack to 15; then the Ancient Spirit and Destructive Attack to 20, Benediction to 20, and Corrode last. He leaves Benediction’s level 15 option for last because it adds nothing to damage. Tsuruf raises Corrode to 5 early, where the extra damage your spirits deal to a Corroded target rises from 10% to 25%, and wants Benediction at 20, where both of its bonuses reach 45%.

What is the best Spiritmaster opener?

Buff, summon the Ancient Spirit, and cast Elemental Fusion as soon as it is ready. The Ancient Spirit grants Four Elements every time it uses its skill, and aLuckyRO shows it doing so the moment it appears, so the opener ends in an Elemental Fusion:

  • aLuckyRO: always start a fight with the Ancient Spirit if it is ready, otherwise with your normal spirits. Cast Elemental Fusion, keep spamming your skills, cast it again, and use your buffs while the spirits are out, because Spirit’s Benediction buffs them too.
  • OneTimeACraft: your two self-buffs first, then the Ancient Spirit. He explains that spirits take your stats when you summon them and keep your buffs after they run out, so buffing first makes the summon stronger.
  • Tsuruf: stack Cold Shock’s Attack buff first, then cast your buffs and hold the macro key.
  • Hemi: buffs, then the macro lines, which bring out the spirits and keep Dimensional Control firing as they use their skills.

How do you set up the Spiritmaster macro?

Put the spirits and the damage skills in the macro, and keep the buffs for yourself. The creators’ setups:

Creator In the macro Cast by hand
Hemi Line 1: Corrode → Jointstrike: Curse → Dimensional Control → Combustion. Line 2: Elemental Fusion → Water Spirit → Earth Spirit → Fire Spirit Buffs, Ancient Spirit
aLuckyRO (early game) Cold Shock, the spirit chain repeated two or three times, Cold Shock, Dimensional Control → Jointstrike: Curse → Combustion, Cold Shock Elemental Fusion (charged), stigmas
Tsuruf Spirits with the Water Spirit last, Combustion, Elemental Fusion, Cold Shock, the Jointstrikes, Dimensional Control last Buffs at the start of a fight
Grobs (level 45 build) Elemental Fusion → Corrode —
init.rb (PvE builds) Water Spirit → Cold Shock → Jointstrike: Curse —

aLuckyRO repeats the spirit chain because a summon sometimes misses, and ends it on the Fire Spirit, which attacks fastest. He sets a 10 ms delay between steps if your ping is under 50 and 50 ms at 80–100; Hemi uses 50 ms for the same reason. In the action combat mode, aLuckyRO keeps Cold Shock in the macro so your MP keeps coming back; in the original AION targeting mode your character fires it between skills on its own once your attack speed is high.

Should Elemental Fusion go in the macro?

Only if it is not a charge skill. A macro releases a charge skill straight away, and Elemental Fusion’s level 12 option turns it into one that deals up to 200% more damage. aLuckyRO keeps that option and casts Elemental Fusion by hand: in his test, removing it dropped a hit from about 21,000 damage to 7,000. Grobs’s level 45 build and Tsuruf skip the charge option and run Elemental Fusion in the macro instead, with the Element Boost, extra damage or Four Elements options. aLuckyRO also asks new players to play a week without any macro first, so they learn the class and do not stand in boss attacks while it runs.

Should a Spiritmaster still use the Wind Spirit?

Early, yes; later, most creators drop it. Each spirit uses its skill as it appears, so four summons give four elements and a guaranteed Elemental Fusion. That is why aLuckyRO keeps all four while you level. Once your attack speed is higher and the Fire, Water and Earth Spirits use their skills often enough on their own, he removes the Wind Spirit, because summoning it costs time. Hemi leaves it out of his macros because it does not fit, and OneTimeACraft says you never use it in PvE. In public builds, the Wind Spirit is on 49% of skill bars.

Which passives should a PvE Spiritmaster level?

Spirit Strike first, for +6% PvE Damage Boost for you and your spirit. aLuckyRO, Hemi, Tsuruf and OneTimeACraft all rank it at the top. After that:

  • Element Unification: +1.1% Critical Damage Boost per spirit skill, up to 5 stacks. Hemi, Tsuruf and OneTimeACraft level it next; aLuckyRO skips it early, because it only helps when you crit.
  • Spirit Revitalization: a chance on hit to cut spirit summon cooldowns. Hemi and Tsuruf take it; aLuckyRO calls it a middle priority.
  • Mental Focus: +11% Mental-type status-effect chance and +0.3% Double Chance. Hemi and OneTimeACraft level it, and init.rb’s and Grobs’s priority lists include it; aLuckyRO calls it a PvP passive.
  • Spirit’s Descent: extra damage for 10 seconds after each summon, 30 after the Ancient Spirit. aLuckyRO places it between his first and second priorities.
  • Corrode: +100 Critical Hit and extra damage on crits. aLuckyRO leaves it until you reach about 800–1,000 Critical Hit, around the middle of the game; before that, his test showed almost no crits.

Spirit Protection is a middle priority for aLuckyRO and the last one for OneTimeACraft. aLuckyRO puts Spirit Communion low and treats Revitalization Contract as a PvP passive.

How should a PvE Spiritmaster spend Daevanion points?

Take the skill nodes for Combustion, Elemental Fusion, the Fire Spirit, Cold Shock and Dimensional Control on every board, add Spirit Strike, and collect the Combat Speed and Damage Boost corners on the way. Grobs’s 60-point leveling board and 290-point level 45 board are drawn node by node in our Spiritmaster Daevanion guide. For other classes’ builds, see the builds directory.

Where does this Spiritmaster build come from?

We have not tested this build in-game ourselves. It is compiled from these sources and cross-checked against the skill data:

Claims about damage, such as aLuckyRO’s Elemental Fusion charge test, come from the creators’ own testing, not from the client data.
