FAQ

What weapon does the Sorcerer use?
A spellbook, with a guard in the off-hand. In questlog.gg’s gear statistics for 308 public Sorcerer character builds, the quest weapon Spiritforged Spellbook is the most common (19%), followed by the crafted Splendent Ebony Dragon Lord Spellbook (16%) and Splendent Star Dragon Lord Spellbook (14%).
Why can’t Hellfire go in the Sorcerer macro?
Hellfire is a charge skill with up to three charge levels, and the macro releases it straight away instead of holding the charge. Every creator we checked casts it by hand. EUTOPIA measured the cost of leaving it to the macro: roughly 15,000–16,000 damage per second instead of about 22,000 in his test.
Which stigmas should a Sorcerer use?
Element Enhancement, Delayed Explosion, Fire Wall and Cold Storm. That is the most common set on the skill bar in public builds on questlog.gg, and EUTOPIA, shr1kn, FrozenCloud and aLuckyRO all run it. EUTOPIA swaps Cold Storm for Steel Barrier in hard content, or for Divine Burst when the group keeps failing stagger checks.
Why does MP matter so much for a Sorcerer?
Because your damage depends on it. The Grace of Enhancement passive adds 20% PvE Damage Boost only while your MP is at 25% or more, and Robe of Earth adds Critical Hit at 50% or more. aLuckyRO builds his specializations around MP for that reason; Flame Arrow and Blaze each restore 100 MP per cast.
Is the Sorcerer a fire or an ice class?
Both, with fire doing most of the boss damage. Hellfire, Firestorm, Blaze and Flame Arrow are fire skills, and Element Enhancement boosts Fire and Water Attack together. The ice skills slow, root and freeze; Winter’s Shackles adds a 20% PvE Damage Boost buff, and Bittercold Wind and Cold Storm deal area damage.
Is the Sorcerer good for new players?
It takes more practice than most classes. aLuckyRO calls it the most complex class in AION 2 and advises a few days without the macro. FrozenCloud names its main drawback: Hellfire roots you while you charge it and has a long cooldown. EUTOPIA’s macro plays most of the class for you, except Hellfire.

What is the best Sorcerer build in AION 2?

The standard Sorcerer build is a fire burst caster built around Hellfire. Its stigmas are Element Enhancement, Delayed Explosion, Fire Wall and Cold Storm: the four most common stigmas on the skill bar in public Sorcerer builds on questlog.gg, and the set EUTOPIA, shr1kn and aLuckyRO all start from. Every other skill either feeds Hellfire’s cooldown or raises the damage it lands.

Each part of the build has its own guide:

Guide What it covers
Sorcerer PvE build Skill levels and specializations, stigma setups, the opener, the macro and the passives
Sorcerer Daevanion build What each of the five boards holds, and shr1kn’s 268-point and 401-point boards drawn out
Best Sorcerer build shr1kn’s builds by gear score compared, the midgame push to 20, and the PvP stigma bar
Sorcerer gear guide What Sorcerers wear in every slot, the best spellbook, the crafting path, Robe of Flame lines and Arcana

How does the Sorcerer deal damage?

Most of it comes from Hellfire, a charged area attack with up to three charge levels. EUTOPIA calls it your bread and butter, and FrozenCloud describes the whole kit as buffing yourself and weakening the target right before a Hellfire lands. The client data shows how the pieces connect:

  1. Hellfire hits up to 4 enemies around a target within 20m and deals 20–35 Stagger damage depending on the charge.
  2. Firestorm throws fireballs at a target; from level 12, each fireball cuts Hellfire’s cooldown by 2 seconds. aLuckyRO’s demonstration shows five fireballs per cast, and at level 16 each one also adds 15% damage, up to +75%.
  3. Wish of Concentration raises your Attack and, with its specializations, your Combat Speed. At level 16 it cuts every skill’s remaining cooldown by 10 seconds.
  4. Blaze only hits a target marked by Fire Mark, a passive that every fire hit applies. At level 16 each Blaze hit cuts Wish of Concentration’s cooldown by 3 seconds.
  5. Flame Arrow, your basic attack, restores MP. From level 12 its Pyroclasm hit gives +5% Fire Damage Boost for 10 seconds, and at 16 it resets Blaze.

Three effects set up each Hellfire: Element Enhancement (+20% Fire and Water Attack for 10 seconds), Delayed Explosion (+15% damage taken from you during its 4-second fuse) and Winter’s Shackles, whose level 8 option gives +20% PvE Damage Boost for 5 seconds. How the creators order them is in the Sorcerer PvE build.

Why does MP matter for a Sorcerer?

Because several of your damage bonuses switch off when MP runs low. In the client data:

  • Grace of Enhancement (passive): +20% PvE Damage Boost while your MP is at 25% or more, plus a 50% chance of extra damage on each hit.
  • Robe of Earth (passive): +7% Max MP, and +105 Critical Hit while MP is at 50% or more.
  • Flame Arrow and Blaze each restore 100 MP, and Flame Arrow’s level 8 option adds 20% more.

aLuckyRO puts it plainly: the more MP you have, the more damage you deal. His specializations favour MP early, such as −50% MP cost on Firestorm, which he says otherwise takes almost a tenth of your MP per cast. aLuckyRO and shr1kn both keep Flame Arrow firing on one mouse button while the macro runs on the other, which keeps MP up.

Which stigmas do Sorcerers slot most?

Element Enhancement is in almost every build, and three damage stigmas follow. These shares count only the stigmas placed on the skill bar, as on every class page here. That matters most for the Sorcerer: 177 of the 492 public Sorcerer skill builds on questlog.gg list all 13 stigmas, most of them at level 1, the same way the most-liked build does. On 2026-10-11, 339 builds had at least one stigma on the bar, and 300 of them had exactly four:

Stigma Share of 339 builds What it does
Element Enhancement 95% +20% Fire and Water Attack for 10s
Delayed Explosion 82% Fire hit after 4s; +15% damage taken from you during the delay
Fire Wall 76% A wall of fire that burns enemies inside it for 10s
Cold Storm 67% Slows, then a 7s storm that deals Water damage over time
Steel Barrier 23% Shield worth 16% of Max HP for 60s, plus 10% PvE Damage Tolerance
Hibernation 14% 5s of immunity to damage and status effects
Divine Burst 14% Fire hit with 50 Stagger damage
Glacial Smite 9% Area Water hit with 20 Stagger damage
Soul Freeze 9% Water hit with a 75% Seal chance
Arctic Armor 7% +20% PvE Damage Tolerance for 10s and a chance to freeze attackers
Lumiel’s Space 4% Area hit with a 75% Airborne chance
Curse: Tree 3% Turns a target into a tree for 10s; −20% Fire Tolerance
Assault Bombardment 1% Area hit with a Frost chance; more Defense per target hit

On Global you equip four. Hibernation, Soul Freeze, Curse: Tree and Arctic Armor are mostly PvP picks; aLuckyRO calls all four PvP skills.

Which active skills appear in most Sorcerer builds?

Eleven of the twelve actives are on the skill bar in more than 80% of those builds:

Active skill Share of 339 builds
Firestorm 98%
Flame Arrow 98%
Wish of Concentration 98%
Hellfire 97%
Bittercold Wind 96%
Blaze 95%
Winter’s Shackles 95%
Frost Burst 91%
Ice Chain 87%
Frost 87%
Flame Scattershot 84%
Defiance 11%

Defiance looks rare only because it is bound to its own key (Space by default) rather than the skill bar. Flame Scattershot works only on a staggered target, and EUTOPIA often leaves it out of his rotation. Ice Chain divides the creators: aLuckyRO levels it early because it cuts Winter’s Shackles’ cooldown, while EUTOPIA and shr1kn leave it at a low level.

What does every Sorcerer skill do?

The Sorcerer has 35 skills: 12 actives, 13 stigmas and 10 passives. The descriptions below summarize the Global client data. Damage numbers are left out because they scale with skill level, and specializations change several of these effects.

Grace of Resistance More Mental-type and Impact-type Resist.

Is the Sorcerer hard to play?

It asks more of you than most classes, mainly because of Hellfire. FrozenCloud names its main drawback: you stand still while you charge it, and its cooldown is long, so the rest of your kit exists to bring it back sooner. Hellfire’s level 8 option makes it usable while moving; shr1kn’s leveling build takes it, and EUTOPIA notes that some players switch to it for harder boss fights.

The creators also differ on how much to automate. EUTOPIA’s macro covers every skill except Hellfire and lets the class almost play itself, though he gets more damage from a manual priority setup. aLuckyRO calls the Sorcerer the most complex class in AION 2 and advises playing a few days without the macro, until you know when each skill matters.
