AION 2 Ranger Daevanion Build: Best Nodes & Two Real Boards

Ranger Daevanion guide for AION 2 Global: which skills each of the five boards levels, which nodes to buy first, and two real level 45 Ranger boards compared.

FAQ

How many Daevanion boards does the Ranger have?
Five. Nezekan unlocks at character level 12, Zikel at 20, Vaizel at 30, Triniel at 40 and Azphel at 45. The first four level your skills and general stats; Azphel holds only PvP and status-effect nodes.
How many points does it take to fill the Ranger boards?
570 points for the four PvE boards: 134 each for Nezekan, Zikel and Vaizel, and 168 for Triniel. Azphel needs another 232, but the planner data charges it in a separate point type, so it does not compete with the PvE boards.
Which board has Focused Eye and Hunter’s Resolve?
Nezekan, with two nodes each, together with Concentrated Fire, Vigilant Eye and Wind Vigor. Vaizel and Triniel add one more level to every passive. Hunter’s Soul and Rooting Eye sit on Zikel instead.
Should a Ranger take the Damage Tolerance nodes?
Both real boards we compared take them: the two Damage Tolerance nodes on Zikel and the two Critical Damage Tolerance nodes on Vaizel. They are defensive, so take them after the damage nodes on the same board, or earlier if you keep dying in group content.
What do Daevanion nodes cost?
Common stat nodes cost 1 point, passive skill nodes 2, active skill nodes 3 and the large stat nodes 4. A node only becomes available once it connects back to the start of its board. Allyria notes that boards can be reset with Kinah; the planner data lists 500 per node.
Do stigmas get Daevanion nodes?
No. None of the five boards has a stigma node, so Vaizel’s Authority and the other stigmas are levelled only with stigma points. Allyria names Abyss farming as the main source of those points on Global.

What is the best Ranger Daevanion build for PvE?

Take the skill nodes for your core seven actives on every PvE board: Deadshot, Gale Arrow, Drill Dart, Tempest Shot, Snipe, Burst Arrow and Snare Shot. Add Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve and Hunter’s Soul, and collect the 4-point damage nodes on the way. Leave Azphel for PvP.

whelps, the author of the most-liked public Ranger skill build on questlog.gg, published a 316-point “starting board” that does exactly that:

Board Points Skill nodes taken 4-point nodes taken
Nezekan 79 Core seven + Marking Shot; Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve and Concentrated Fire twice each 1 × Combat Speed, 2 × Cooldown Reduction
Zikel 81 Core seven + Marking Shot; Hunter’s Soul twice, Rooting Eye, Melee Fire 2 × Damage Boost, 2 × Damage Tolerance
Vaizel 81 Core seven + Suppressing Arrow; Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve, Hunter’s Soul 2 × Critical Damage Boost, 2 × Critical Damage Tolerance
Triniel 75 Core seven; Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve, Hunter’s Soul, Vigilant Eye 3 × Multi-Hit Chance
Azphel 0 Skipped —

The result is +4 levels on all seven core skills and on Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve and Hunter’s Soul, and +2 on Marking Shot and Concentrated Fire. On top of that come +1.5% Combat Speed, +3% Cooldown Reduction, +3% Damage Boost, +3% Critical Damage Boost and +4.5% Multi-Hit Chance. To see how those levels feed the rotation, read the Ranger PvE build.

Here is that board drawn out. Every path starts at the centre node, and the highlighted nodes are the ones whelps takes. On a computer, hover over a node to see what it gives.

whelps’ 316-point “Rough starting board” in questlog.gg’s Daevanion planner, last updated 2026-10-02. Board layout from the game data on questlog.gg.

Which Ranger skills does each board level?

Each of the four PvE boards has one node for every active skill, so each active can gain up to four levels. The passives are split. Nezekan and Zikel each hold two nodes for five of the ten passives, and Vaizel and Triniel add one node to every passive. All of this comes from the board data in questlog.gg’s Daevanion planner.

Board Unlocks at Nodes Points to fill Passive nodes 4-point stat nodes (+1.5% each)
Nezekan Level 12 89 134 +2 Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve, Concentrated Fire, Vigilant Eye, Wind Vigor 2 × Combat Speed, 2 × Cooldown Reduction
Zikel Level 20 89 134 +2 Hunter’s Soul, Rooting Eye, Melee Fire, Unyielding Resolve, Revitalization Contract 2 × Damage Boost, 2 × Damage Tolerance
Vaizel Level 30 89 134 +1 every passive 2 × Critical Damage Boost, 2 × Critical Damage Tolerance
Triniel Level 40 117 168 +1 every passive 3 × Multi-Hit Chance, 3 × Multi-Hit Resist
Azphel Level 45 153 232 (own point type) None 4 × PvP Damage Boost, 4 × PvP Damage Tolerance

For a Ranger this split matters: Nezekan holds the two passives every creator ranks first, Focused Eye and Hunter’s Resolve. That makes the level 12 board the most valuable one to fill early. Hunter’s Soul and Rooting Eye are on Zikel.

The cheap filler nodes are the same on every PvE board: +3 Attack, +5 Critical Hit, +5 Critical Hit Resist, +30 Defense, +100 Max HP or +50 Max MP, each for 1 point. Passive skill nodes cost 2, active skill nodes 3 and the large stat nodes 4. A node only becomes available once it connects back to the start of its board.

Which Daevanion nodes should a Ranger buy first?

All three creators start with the skills that do the most damage, but they disagree on whether the big 4-point stat nodes come before or after them.

Allyria (written Global guide) uses the same order on every board:

  1. The 4-point stat nodes.
  2. Active skill nodes. Take these first instead when a node gets a skill to level 8, 12, 16 or 20, because those are the levels that unlock specializations.
  3. Passive skill nodes.
  4. Common nodes, in this order: Attack, Critical Hit, HP, Defense, Critical Hit Resist, then MP.

Her rule for a board you cannot finish: don’t spend points on anything that does not add damage.

Moxsy takes skill levels first: the highest-damage skills, then the secondary ones, then passives. He tells you to skip Critical Hit Resist nodes, and to grab Deadshot levels wherever you can.

J0EI starts Nezekan with the Combat Speed nodes, which he cannot stress enough, then takes Drill Dart, Tempest Shot, Snipe and Marking Shot. He expects players who clear the sealed dungeons to earn enough points for every important skill node eventually.

In practice the board layout forces some compromises. Even with Moxsy’s advice, both real boards below include around 20 Critical Hit Resist nodes, because cheap nodes are often the only path to the skill and stat nodes behind them.

How do whelps’ and J0EI’s boards compare?

They agree on the core and differ on breadth. whelps spends 316 points on a pure damage board. J0EI spends 391 PvE points on a wider board that also levels his PvP passives, and puts 30 points into Azphel.

whelps, “Rough starting board” J0EI, “J0eitv’s Ranger Daeva board”
Points on the four PvE boards 316 (79 / 81 / 81 / 75) 391 (95 / 98 / 100 / 98)
Azphel Not used 30 points, including 2 × PvP Damage Boost
Actives at +4 Deadshot, Gale Arrow, Drill Dart, Tempest Shot, Snipe, Burst Arrow, Snare Shot The same seven, plus Marking Shot and Explosion Trap
Passives at +4 Focused Eye, Hunter’s Resolve, Hunter’s Soul Hunter’s Resolve, Hunter’s Soul, Concentrated Fire, Revitalization Contract, Unyielding Resolve (Focused Eye +3)
4-point nodes 1 × Combat Speed, 2 × Cooldown Reduction, 2 × Damage Boost, 2 × Damage Tolerance, 2 × Critical Damage Boost, 2 × Critical Damage Tolerance, 3 × Multi-Hit Chance The same, with both Combat Speed nodes
Not taken Explosion Trap, Defiance, Arrow Scattershot Arrow Scattershot, Multi-Hit Resist

Neither board takes Arrow Scattershot, which fits the PvE advice to drop it once your rotation is fast enough. Neither takes the Multi-Hit Resist nodes on Triniel either. Revitalization Contract and Unyielding Resolve are survival and crowd-control resist passives, so skip J0EI’s extra nodes for them if you only play PvE.

J0EI — Aion 2 Ranger Masterclass (Daevanion boards at 32:35)

What should a leveling Ranger take on the early boards?

Nezekan opens at level 12 and Zikel at 20, while your skills are still low. Spend those first points to reach specialization milestones on the core skills, not to spread +1s evenly. Getting Deadshot to level 8 early is the clearest example: it can then be cast while moving and gains +30% Skill Speed. Moxsy calls those two options a huge damage spike.

After that, follow the order above: Focused Eye and Hunter’s Resolve on Nezekan, then the Combat Speed and Damage Boost nodes as your paths reach them. Moxsy’s reassurance for new players: you earn enough points to end up with most of the important nodes anyway. Allyria adds that boards can be reset with Kinah, so early mistakes are cheap.

Does Azphel use the same points as the PvE boards?

No. In the planner data, Azphel is paid for with a different point type from the other four boards, so filling it does not take points away from Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel or Triniel. whelps labels his boards the same way, with separate counts such as “500/36 points”. Allyria notes that the boards after the first four can be fully maxed.

For PvE damage, Azphel has nothing. Its 4-point nodes are PvP Damage Boost and PvP Damage Tolerance, and its mid-tier nodes are PvP Attack and Defense, PvP Critical Hit, PvP Accuracy and Evasion, and Status Effect Chance and Resist. Its common nodes are PvP stats plus a few HP and MP nodes. Fill it whenever you have points of that type; J0EI has started his with the two PvP Damage Boost nodes.

How many levels can Daevanion add to a Ranger skill?

Four at most. Every active skill has one node on each of the four PvE boards. Every passive has four nodes in total: two on Nezekan or Zikel, one on Vaizel and one on Triniel. Stigmas have no nodes at all, so Vaizel’s Authority and Bow of Blessing are levelled only with stigma points.

Your PvE targets are higher than +4 can cover on its own: Deadshot and Gale Arrow at 20, and Drill Dart, Tempest Shot and Snipe at 16. The remaining levels come from Arcana cards and from skill lines on gear, such as the ring lines Allyria looks for on Gale Arrow, Deadshot, Tempest Shot and Drill Dart; the Ranger gear guide covers both. The Ranger PvE build lists which level unlocks which specialization. Every Ranger page is linked from the Ranger builds hub, and other classes are in the builds directory.

Where does this Daevanion data come from?

We have not tested these boards in-game ourselves. Board, node and cost data come from the game client, as published in questlog.gg’s Daevanion planner (Global, checked 2026-10-08). The plans and priorities come from:
