FAQ

What is the best Chanter build in AION 2 right now?
Undefeated Mantra, Sprint Mantra, Power of the Storm and Marchutan’s Wrath as stigmas, with Dark Crush at skill level 16 as your main damage. 67% of public Chanter builds with four stigmas on the bar run exactly those four, including mourasb’s “Chanters2” and Grobs’ level 45 build. Level Undefeated Mantra to 20 first; Grobs takes Power of the Storm to 5 before that.
Should a Chanter run Guardian Blessing or Marchutan’s Wrath?
Marchutan’s Wrath for most players. It is one of the skills that unlock Dark Crush, and 79% of Chanter builds slot it. Guardian Blessing (14%) instead multiplies Wind’s Promise and Crossguard by 1.5 at levels 15 and 10. dimach’s “PvE” build, the most-liked Chanter skill build on questlog.gg, takes Guardian Blessing.
What is the best Chanter build for leveling?
Grobs’ “Chanter - Leveling” build (10 likes). It slots the four standard stigmas at level 1, puts Onslaught at 20 and most other skills at 12. All 71 public Chanter builds named for leveling slot the same four stigmas.
What is the best Chanter build for PvP?
There is no settled one yet. Across the 19 public Chanter builds named for PvP, Undefeated Mantra (19) and Marchutan’s Wrath (17) are almost always kept, while only about half keep Sprint Mantra or Power of the Storm. dimach’s PvP build swaps Power of the Storm for Focused Defense, a guaranteed block.
Do Chanter buffs stack with another Chanter or a Cleric?
Not fully. kazecaelum’s build notes say Power of the Storm overlaps with other Chanters’ and Clerics’ buffs, so coordinate with them to keep it up as long as possible. The client data adds that you cannot receive Power of the Storm while the Cleric’s Earth’s Blessing is active, and Undefeated Mantra does not stack with the Cleric’s Light of Protection.

What is the best Chanter build in AION 2?

The best Chanter build is the one most Chanters already run: Undefeated Mantra, Sprint Mantra, Power of the Storm and Marchutan’s Wrath as stigmas, and Dark Crush at skill level 16, where it loses its cooldown. Two thirds of Chanters run the same four stigmas, so the real choices are how far to push each skill and whether to trade Marchutan’s Wrath for Guardian Blessing:

Part Best pick Why
Stigmas Undefeated Mantra, Sprint Mantra, Power of the Storm, Marchutan’s Wrath 67% of the 474 public builds with four stigmas on the bar
First stigma to 20 Undefeated Mantra Its level 15 and 20 bonuses apply to the whole party
Early exception Power of the Storm to 5 Grobs takes it to 5 first for −30s of cooldown
Main damage Dark Crush at 16 No cooldown at 16
Next skills to 16 Onslaught, Spinning Strike, Recuperation Grobs’ level 45 build; mourasb pushes Onslaught, Dark Crush and Recuperation on to 20
Fourth-slot alternative Guardian Blessing dimach’s “PvE” build (28 likes), the most-liked Chanter skill build
PvP Keep Undefeated Mantra and Marchutan’s Wrath 19 and 17 of the 19 public PvP builds

This page compares the builds behind that answer. For specializations, the macro and the opener, use the Chanter PvE build.

How do the top-rated Chanter builds compare?

The most-liked public Chanter skill builds on questlog.gg (Global) come from dimach, mourasb, Grobs and kazecaelum. Likes were checked on 2026-10-13.

Build (author) Likes Stigmas on the bar Skill levels Built for
“PvE” (dimach) 28 Undefeated Mantra, Sprint Mantra, Power of the Storm, Guardian Blessing, all 20 Onslaught, Dark Crush, Recuperation and Spinning Strike 20; most others 14–16 A long-term PvE target
“Chanters2” (mourasb) 24 Undefeated Mantra 20, Power of the Storm 20, Sprint Mantra 10, Marchutan’s Wrath 10 Onslaught, Dark Crush and Recuperation 20; Incandescent Blow, Spinning Strike and Defiance 16 Endgame PvE
“Chanter - Level 45” (Grobs) 11 Undefeated Mantra 20, Power of the Storm 5, Marchutan’s Wrath 5, Sprint Mantra 1 Onslaught, Dark Crush, Recuperation and Spinning Strike 16 A fresh level 45 character
“Chanter - Leveling” (Grobs) 10 All four standard stigmas at 1 Onslaught 20; Dark Crush, Spinning Strike and Recuperation 12 Leveling
“PvP” (dimach) 5 Undefeated Mantra, Sprint Mantra, Marchutan’s Wrath, Focused Defense, all 20 Dark Crush, Recuperation and Spinning Strike 20 PvP
“Aeliyah’s Chanter (WIP)” (kazecaelum) 3 Undefeated Mantra 20, Sprint Mantra 10, Power of the Storm 10, Marchutan’s Wrath 1 Recuperation 17, Dark Crush 16, most others 14–15 PvE, with rotation notes

dimach’s builds level every stigma and nearly every skill to 20, so read them as a finished target rather than a path. His character build notes point to Korean sources, an Inven guide and the cielui ranker guide, and some of his advice, such as his Arcana sets, uses systems the Korean version has and Global does not yet. We only take his skill and stigma levels from it. mourasb’s character build, with three gear stages, is the most-liked Chanter character build on questlog.gg by far (169 likes).

The wider numbers show how settled the class is. Of the 530 public Chanter skill builds that slot stigmas, 98% run Undefeated Mantra and 93% Sprint Mantra. Among the 474 with exactly four, 316 (67%) run the standard four and 42 (9%) swap Marchutan’s Wrath for Guardian Blessing. No other combination reaches 3%.

Marchutan’s Wrath or Guardian Blessing in the fourth slot?

Marchutan’s Wrath for most players, Guardian Blessing if you want to lean on your passives. The two do different jobs. In the client data:

Marchutan’s Wrath Guardian Blessing
Base effect Hits up to 4 enemies and makes Dark Crush available for 3s +5.4% Max HP for 120s and restores 5.4% HP; cannot be dispelled
Level 5 Up to +20% damage when it hits fewer targets +10% Status Effect Resist
Level 10 50% chance to Stun for 3s ×1.5 Crossguard effect
Level 15 −70% Incoming Heal and Potion Recovery on the target ×1.5 Wind’s Promise effect
Level 20 +25% Stun chance +10% Incoming Heal
Share of 530 builds 79% 14%

Marchutan’s Wrath is a Dark Crush trigger. Dark Crush can only be cast for a few seconds after Impactful Crush, Spinning Strike, Marchutan’s Wrath or Ensnaring Mark, and Marchutan’s Wrath opens the longest window of the three standard triggers. kazecaelum’s notes put it to work that way: use it whenever you are not already opening Dark Crush with something else. Without it, Impactful Crush and Spinning Strike are left to open every Dark Crush.

Guardian Blessing multiplies two passives. Wind’s Promise adds 5.7% Critical Damage Boost and a 50% chance of extra damage on a critical hit, and Crossguard adds 200 Block and heals you on each block. Level 15 multiplies Wind’s Promise by 1.5 and level 10 does the same for Crossguard. dimach’s build takes Wind’s Promise to 20 to go with it. The “Chanter PVE by Whelps” build that maokep copied runs the same setup, with Wind’s Promise first in its upgrade order. It also adds 5.4% Max HP.

Neither creator explains the trade in words, so the numbers are the best guide: 316 builds keep Marchutan’s Wrath, while the most-liked single build drops it.

Grobs — The Only Chanter PvE Guide You Need

What should a Chanter change for PvP?

Keep Undefeated Mantra and Marchutan’s Wrath, and swap one of the other two. Of the 19 public Chanter builds named for PvP that slot stigmas, 19 run Undefeated Mantra and 17 Marchutan’s Wrath, but only 10 keep Sprint Mantra and 10 Power of the Storm. Guardian Blessing (7), Focused Defense (5) and Ensnaring Mark (4) take the freed slots.

Marchutan’s Wrath is worth more in PvP than in PvE. Its level 15 upgrade cuts the target’s Incoming Heal and Potion Recovery by 70%, which does nothing to a boss but a lot to a player who is trying to heal through your damage.

dimach’s “PvP” build is the clearest example. It replaces Power of the Storm with Focused Defense, which guarantees a block with 100% more Block Damage Reduction, can be used twice in a row from level 5 and while moving from level 10. His passives shift the same way, with Crossguard, Survival Willpower and Blessing of Life at 20. His notes add that nobody yet knows whether Global will get separate PvP gear. desko.dragneel’s “PvP Kamui” build goes the other way and keeps Power of the Storm, replacing Sprint Mantra with Guardian Blessing.

Which Chanter build fits your situation?

Pick the build that matches where you are:

  • Leveling to 45: Grobs’ “Chanter - Leveling”. It slots the four standard stigmas at level 1, and its upgrade order starts with Onslaught, Incandescent Blow, Dark Crush and Spinning Strike. All 71 public Chanter builds named for leveling slot the same four stigmas.
  • Just reached 45: Grobs’ “Chanter - Level 45”. Undefeated Mantra to 20, Power of the Storm and Marchutan’s Wrath to 5, and Onslaught, Dark Crush, Recuperation and Spinning Strike to 16.
  • Endgame PvE: mourasb’s “Chanters2”, with Onslaught, Dark Crush and Recuperation at 20 and Power of the Storm at 20.
  • A long-term goal built on passives: dimach’s “PvE”, with Guardian Blessing and Wind’s Promise at 20.
  • Help with the rotation: kazecaelum’s notes. One macro holds the Dark Crush, Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush chains, a second holds Incandescent Blow, and you weave Onslaught in between for animation cancels, MP and damage.
  • Sharing a party with another Chanter or a Cleric: kazecaelum warns that Power of the Storm overlaps with their buffs, so agree on who casts it when. The Chanter builds hub lists which Chanter and Cleric buffs do not stack.
  • Healing-focused groups: notXeon’s healer setup on the Chanter PvE page swaps in Impeding Authority and Healing Touch.
  • PvP: dimach’s “PvP”, with Focused Defense in place of Power of the Storm.

What gear and Daevanion go with the best build?

The build needs Dark Crush at 16, so gear matters as much as skill points. Skill points stop at 10, and four more levels come from the Chanter Daevanion boards. The rest come from skill lines on rings and Arcana, which the Chanter gear guide covers. To compare the Chanter with the Cleric and the other classes, see the AION 2 classes overview.
