FAQ

What is the best Cleric PvP build in AION 2?
Earth Punishment, Light of Protection, Salvation and Voice of Doom. It is MrRosaPony’s “Skill Set Cleric PVP”, the most-liked Cleric PvP build on questlog.gg (12 likes on 19 October), and 58 public Global builds copy it by name. For 1v1 arena, Th3Ruthless and BoredAF take Noble Aura instead of Voice of Doom; for group support, Th3Ruthless runs Salvation, Absolution, Light of Protection and Yustiel’s Power.
Should a Cleric take Salvation or Yustiel’s Power in PvP?
Th3Ruthless calls Salvation the stronger pick for 1v1, but riskier: pressed at the wrong moment, it can cost you the fight. Yustiel’s Power is a plain party buff, +10% PvP Damage Tolerance for 10 seconds in the client data, so it is the safer choice while you learn. MrRosaPony uses Salvation as the emergency button at low HP.
What should a Cleric run for 1v1 arena?
Earth Punishment, Noble Aura, Light of Protection and Salvation. That is Th3Ruthless’ “PvP - 1vs1 - Arena” build and the bar BoredAF, a Rank 1 Supreme Commander on the Taiwanese server, uses on Global. Earth Punishment makes Condemnation always crit, Noble Aura adds steady damage, and Salvation stops burst or buys an escape.
What changes for a Cleric in group PvP?
Your job becomes crowd control and healing. Th3Ruthless takes every Root, Stun and Slow specialization option and a support bar: the published 5v5 arena build runs Salvation, Absolution, Light of Protection and Yustiel’s Power. With a Chanter in the party, Light of Protection gives way to Benevolence, and in open-world fights Summon Resurrection takes a slot.
Do Cleric buffs work in PvP?
Yes, at about half strength. In the client data, Light of Protection gives +10.5% PvE but +5.25% PvP Damage Boost and Tolerance, and Yustiel’s Power gives +20% PvE but +10% PvP Damage Tolerance. Voice of Doom has no PvP split: it cuts the target’s Incoming Heal and HP Potion Recovery by 60% for 20 seconds.

What is the best Cleric PvP build right now?

It depends on the fight, but three stigmas stay: Earth Punishment, Light of Protection and Salvation. Earth Punishment makes Condemnation always crit, Light of Protection is your toggle buff, and Salvation is your escape. The fourth stigma, your specializations and your role change with the mode:

Mode Stigmas Whose build
1v1 arena Earth Punishment, Noble Aura, Light of Protection, Salvation Th3Ruthless’ “PvP - 1vs1 - Arena”; BoredAF
Open world, small fights Earth Punishment, Light of Protection, Salvation, Voice of Doom MrRosaPony’s “Skill Set Cleric PVP” (12 likes)
Group support (arena or Abyss) Salvation, Absolution, Light of Protection, Yustiel’s Power Th3Ruthless’ “PvP- 5vs5 - Arena”

MrRosaPony’s bar is the most copied: of the 131 public Global Cleric builds named or tagged for PvP on questlog.gg, 58 are copies that keep its name, and 62 run exactly those four stigmas. For the PvE side of the class, see the Cleric PvE build; every Cleric guide is listed on the Cleric builds hub.

Which stigma bar fits which PvP mode?

For 1v1, take damage plus Salvation. For open-world fights, take Voice of Doom against healers. For groups, take party heals and buffs. Here are the setups and why each creator picks them.

1v1 arena: Earth Punishment, Noble Aura, Light of Protection, Salvation

This is the PvE damage bar with Salvation in place of Prayer of Amplification. BoredAF ran it in the first week of Global and explains each piece:

  • Earth Punishment gives the kill potential. On its target, Condemnation always crits, and with its level 12 option every crit resets its cooldown, so you fire it again and again as long as the enemy does not cleanse Earth Punishment.
  • Noble Aura adds damage all the time.
  • Light of Protection is there for its Damage Tolerance.
  • Salvation stops incoming burst, or covers an escape and a reset.

Th3Ruthless starts the 1v1 bar from Prayer of Amplification instead of Salvation. If your damage is already enough, Th3Ruthless swaps Prayer of Amplification for Yustiel’s Power for defense. If fights keep running long, the swap is Salvation instead of Yustiel’s Power. The “PvP - 1vs1 - Arena” build on questlog.gg ends up with Salvation.

Open world: Earth Punishment, Light of Protection, Salvation, Voice of Doom

MrRosaPony’s bar replaces Noble Aura with Voice of Doom. In the client data, Voice of Doom hits up to 4 enemies with damage over time and cuts their Incoming Heal and HP Potion Recovery by 60% for 20 seconds. That way a target cannot heal or drink its way through your damage. MrRosaPony’s notes add the timing: bait the enemy’s cleanse with the weaker debuffs, then land Earth Punishment and Voice of Doom while the cleanse is on cooldown. The best Cleric build page covers these notes in full.

Group support: Salvation, Absolution, Light of Protection, Yustiel’s Power

In a group, Th3Ruthless says your job is crowd control and healing, not damage. The support bar has no damage stigma at all:

  • The published arena build: Th3Ruthless’ “PvP- 5vs5 - Arena” runs Salvation, Absolution, Light of Protection and Yustiel’s Power.
  • With a Chanter: Th3Ruthless takes Light of Protection only when the party has no Chanter. In the client data it does not stack with the Chanter’s Undefeated Mantra. With a Chanter, the bar becomes Absolution, Benevolence, Yustiel’s Power and Salvation.
  • Open world: Summon Resurrection replaces Yustiel’s Power or Salvation. Th3Ruthless thinks resurrection is always needed in open-world fights.

What the public PvP builds slot

Stigma 120 PvP builds All Cleric builds
Earth Punishment 82% 81%
Light of Protection 82% 83%
Salvation 77% 13%
Voice of Doom 59% 10%
Yustiel’s Power 25% 15%
Absolution 18% 24%
Prayer of Amplification 16% 63%
Noble Aura 12% 63%
Summon Resurrection 11% 24%

The “All Cleric builds” column is the share counted on the Cleric builds hub (556 builds, 2026-10-11). Salvation and Voice of Doom are the two stigmas PvP builds add. Prayer of Amplification and Noble Aura, two of the four PvE damage stigmas, are the ones they drop. MrRosaPony’s copies weigh heavily here. Among the other 60 PvP builds, support picks are more common: 30 slot Yustiel’s Power and 21 slot Absolution.

Which specializations change for PvP?

Take the Root, Stun and Knockdown options and the debuff removal on your heals. Almost no PvE build takes them, and most PvP builds do. Below, the 60 PvP builds that are not copies of MrRosaPony’s are compared with the 478 non-PvP Cleric builds we could read in full on 2026-10-16. MrRosaPony’s own build takes every option in the table except the Divine Aura slow.

Skill PvP option 60 other PvP builds Non-PvP builds
Radiant Recovery Removes up to 2 debuffs (level 8) 40 of 59 20%
Judgment Thunder 10% chance to Root for 2s on Divine Punishment (level 12) 37 of 59 4%
Light of Regeneration +2.5% PvP Damage Tolerance while healing (level 16) 31 of 59 29%
Chain of Torment 20% chance to Knock Down for 3s (level 8) 29 of 57 4%
Debilitating Mark 20% chance to Stun for 3s (level 8) 27 of 56 4%
Condemnation 20% chance to Root for 3s (level 8) 27 of 57 1%
Healing Light 50% chance to remove 1 debuff (level 8) 25 of 59 9%
Bolt 30% chance to Stun for 3s when fully charged (level 8) 22 of 56 1%
Divine Aura −40% Move Speed for 3s to up to 4 enemies (level 8) 20 of 57 1%

Th3Ruthless sorts the options by role:

  • 1v1: the Root on Judgment Thunder, the Knockdown on Chain of Torment and the Stun on Debilitating Mark, but Condemnation, Bolt and Divine Aura stay on their damage options. Condemnation is your main damage. For Bolt, Th3Ruthless expects resistances to make its Stun unreliable later on.
  • Group support: every Root, Stun and Slow you can get, including Judgment Thunder’s −10% enemy Combat Speed and Divine Aura’s −40% Move Speed, so enemies cannot reach your team.
  • Heals: Healing Light with two uses, the 50% debuff removal and −2s cooldown; Radiant Recovery with removal of 2 debuffs, −3s cooldown and +5% HP. Th3Ruthless calls the cooldown and debuff removal super important in PvP.
  • Light of Regeneration: Incoming Heal, Move Speed and the level 16 PvP Damage Tolerance.
  • Defiance: 1,000 Stamina, so you can dodge after breaking free; +2s Tenacity; and +25% PvP Damage Tolerance while Tenacity lasts. In the client data, Defiance removes Stun, Knockdown, Airborne, Grab, Frost and Fear and grants status-effect immunity for 5 seconds.

BoredAF adds one breakpoint: Judgment Thunder at skill level 16 casts Divine Punishment one extra time. BoredAF calls Judgment Thunder a single-target DPS loss in PvE. In PvP it fills in the damage when your Chain of Torment or Earth Punishment gets cleansed.

BoredAF — AION 2: Cleric PvP Beginner Guide

Why are Cleric buffs weaker in PvP?

Because most of them have a separate PvP value, usually half the PvE one. The client data lists both:

Effect PvE PvP
Light of Protection: Damage Boost and Damage Tolerance +10.5% +5.25%
Yustiel’s Power: Damage Tolerance +20% +10%
Prayer of Amplification (level 5): Damage Boost +20% +10%
Chain of Torment: enemy Damage Tolerance −5% −2.5%
Debilitating Mark: enemy Damage Boost −5% −2.5%
Defiance (level 16): Damage Tolerance during Tenacity +50% +25%

Some effects have no PvP split. Voice of Doom’s −60% Incoming Heal and HP Potion Recovery is the same against players. Salvation’s 3 seconds of immunity to damage and status effects is the same too. Salvation has one PvP catch in the client data: Salvation, Tenaciousness and Barrier Spell effects cannot be applied for 30 seconds if invincibility stacking is blocked.

How do you play a Cleric in PvP?

Keep the macro short and press your debuffs and Salvation by hand. Each creator puts it differently:

  • MrRosaPony: only Chain of Torment and Judgment Thunder go in the macro, plus Light of Regeneration for sustain. Debuffs go out by hand when the enemy’s cleanse is on cooldown. Defiance is saved for the crowd control that would swing the fight. Salvation is the button at low HP: with its level 5 option, +100% Incoming Heal, you heal back to full and attack again. The Cleric macro guide has the full PvP macro.
  • BoredAF: take your PvE macro and add Judgment Thunder at the bottom. While Earth Punishment is on the target and Condemnation can be spammed, release left click and hold only right click. When it is not, hold both buttons.
  • Th3Ruthless on Salvation: it is amazing in 1v1, but pressed at the wrong time it can betray you. Yustiel’s Power is a buff that cannot go wrong, so play it until you are comfortable with Salvation. If you also level for PvE, Yustiel’s Power is the more useful stigma to have levelled.

What stats and gear help a PvP Cleric?

Early on Global, Block and Critical Hit Resist. BoredAF’s reasoning: most players do not yet have enough Accuracy, or the skill levels for the specializations that ignore Block and Evasion. BoredAF reports about 200 kills and six deaths in the first five days with this setup. BoredAF’s gear advice:

  • Manastones: Block and Critical Hit Resist for now. Do not over-invest, because Fire Temple and crafted gear will replace the set.
  • Soul binds: Constitution and Block once rerolling is affordable.
  • Arcana: cards that reach skill breakpoints, such as Judgment Thunder 16 for the extra Divine Punishment, or Radiant Recovery 16 for its +5% HP.

Two passives get more weight in PvP, according to Th3Ruthless. Prayer of Concentration forms a Protective Shield and raises your Heal Boost for 30 seconds when you drop to 50% HP. Heal Block matters mainly against healers such as another Cleric or a Chanter: in the client data, at level 1 it has a 7% chance to cut a target’s Incoming Heal by 32% for 5 seconds. The full gear picture is in the Cleric gear guide.

How should a Cleric spend Azphel points?

On the PvP corners first, then fill the board. Azphel, the PvP Daevanion board, unlocks at level 45. It is paid for with its own point type, so it never takes points from the PvE boards. In the client data it holds 153 nodes for 232 points: 4 PvP Damage Boost and 4 PvP Damage Tolerance corners at 4 points each, 8 Status Effect Chance and 8 Status Effect Resist nodes at 3, and PvP Attack, Defense, Accuracy, Evasion, Critical Hit and Critical Hit Resist nodes at 1–2 points.

The public Cleric boards spend it this way:

Board Azphel points What it takes
MrRosaPony, early game 110 All eight 4-point corners and a path of PvP stat nodes between them
MrRosaPony, endgame 232 The full board
samzol., “Cleric Endgame — 802 Points” 232 The full board
marx0310, “Early PVE + PVP” 61 1 PvP Damage Boost, 2 PvP Damage Tolerance, mostly PvP Defense and Critical Hit Resist nodes
Th3Ruthless, “Pve +” 0 Azphel left empty for PvE

The PvE boards, and the full node costs for all six, are in the Cleric Daevanion guide. The Gladiator side of PvP is covered in the Gladiator PvP build.

Where does this build come from?

We have not tested this build in-game ourselves. It is compiled from these sources and checked against the skill data:

BoredAF’s kill count and the advice on manastones and soul binds are creator reports from the first week of Global, not client data, and may change with the first patches.
