FAQ

When do world bosses spawn in AION 2?
It depends on the kind. Field bosses in Verteron, Altgard, Eltnen and Morheim respawn a set time after they die, from 1 hour (Melted Danar) to 12 hours (Gartua, High Commander Lagta) according to AllThingsHow. The Abyss bosses in Reshanta come on fixed windows in server time, such as Watcher Kaira every 3 hours from 01:00.
Where is the world boss timer in game?
In the Field Boss list under Exploration, according to AllThingsHow: each field boss shows as “Spawned” or with a “Time Left” countdown for your own server. It is the only timer that knows when your server’s boss was last killed, so trust it over any website, this one included.
When does Watcher Kaira spawn?
Every 3 hours from 01:00 server time, at a random spot in Chaotic Lower Reshanta, according to questlog.gg’s schedule and AllThingsHow; Guild Order lists it as confirmed. Server time is your region’s own clock, Central European time in Europe, so the in-game notice is still the safest check before you travel.
Where is Gartua in AION 2?
There are two, both level 51. Eternal Gartua is on the Eternal Isle in Verteron, closest to the Aullaeu Village Sky Island teleport point; Immortal Gartua is on the Immortal Isle in Altgard, closest to Remote Island. AllThingsHow puts the respawn at 12 hours after a kill.
What do field bosses drop?
In questlog.gg’s client data, the field bosses of Verteron and Altgard drop a loot chest, a chance at pieces of an armor set named after the boss, its Artwork for the Pantheon collection and refining stones. The level 80 bosses of Eltnen and Morheim drop a shared loot chest, general armor and refining stones, and three of them drop pet souls.

How do world bosses work in AION 2?

There are two kinds, and only one runs on a schedule. Field bosses live in the four open-world zones and come back a set time after someone kills them, so their next spawn depends on your server. Abyss bosses live in Reshanta and appear on fixed windows in server time, whoever killed them last. In questlog.gg’s client data, every one of them is a Hero-rank monster:

Where Bosses Level
Verteron (Elyos) 24 field bosses 45 to 51
Altgard (Asmodian) 24 field bosses 45 to 51
Eltnen (Elyos) 12 field bosses 80
Morheim (Asmodian) 12 field bosses 80
Chaotic Lower Reshanta (Abyss) 6 bosses 65
Chaotic Middle Reshanta (Abyss) 4 bosses 80

For field bosses, the timer to trust is in the game: the Field Boss list under Exploration shows each boss as “Spawned” or with a “Time Left” countdown, according to AllThingsHow. No website can see when your server’s boss was last killed. For the timers that do run on a fixed clock, the rift and the daily reset, see All AION 2 tools.

How long do field bosses take to respawn?

From 1 to 12 hours after a kill, for the bosses guides have timed. AllThingsHow lists these respawn times; the levels and closest teleport points come from questlog.gg’s map data:

Boss Level Verteron Altgard Respawn after a kill
Gartua (Eternal / Immortal) 51 Eternal Isle, near Aullaeu Village Sky Island Immortal Isle, near Remote Island 12 hours
High Commander Lagta 48 Laborer’s Rest Stop Elim’s Rest 12 hours
Silent Dartan 48 Aullaeu Village Valley Graverobber Campsite 6 hours
Soul Ruler Kashapa 48 Ancient Zumion Temple Site Idun’s Lake 6 hours
Melted Danar 45 — Creion Campsite 1 hour

The three level 48 commanders exist on both sides: questlog labels them Verteron Inspectors and Altgard Overseers. AllThingsHow names the areas around them differently, for example Lagta at the Drana Plantation in Verteron and at Lagta Fortress in Altgard; the column above gives the teleport point closest to each boss’s marker instead. We found no published respawn times for the other bosses below, so check the in-game list.

Which field bosses are in each zone?

Twenty level 45 bosses on each home zone, and twelve level 80 bosses on each of the second zones. Each table gives the teleport point closest to the boss’s marker on questlog.gg’s map, so you know where to land. On the home zones, each boss has an achievement of its own name; on Eltnen and Morheim, every boss counts toward one achievement, “Guardian of Eltnen” or “Guardian of Morheim”.

What do field bosses drop?

On the home zones, armor named after the boss; on Eltnen and Morheim, general gear. In questlog.gg’s client data, all 48 field bosses of Verteron and Altgard drop a loot chest, a chance at pieces of an armor set carrying the boss’s name (gloves, boots, cloak, helm, pauldrons, greaves, breastplate, and for some earrings and a ring), the boss’s Artwork for the Pantheon collection and Refining Stones of several grades.

The 24 level 80 bosses of Eltnen and Morheim drop a shared Shylak’s Loot Chest, pieces of general armor sets and Refining Stones, but no Artwork. Three of them also drop pet souls: Gluttonous Egetis (Pretor Veil Administrator), Crimson Blizzard Renulf (Elite Karnif) and Predator Colossus Balakh (Elite Dratona), the only monsters that drop those three in our AION 2 pets guide.

games.gg adds that some boss kills give titles, a few of them with stat bonuses.

When do the Abyss bosses spawn?

On fixed windows in server time. These come from questlog.gg’s schedule data, and AllThingsHow lists the same times; the status column is Guild Order’s, which marks most of them as provisional:

Boss Where Level When (server time) Status
Watcher Kaira Random spot in Chaotic Lower Reshanta 65 Every 3 hours from 01:00 Confirmed
Executors Tamasa, Argo and Kaira Chaotic Lower Reshanta 65 Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30, after the Artifact Siege at 21:00 Provisional
Executioner Dramos, Turncoat Ducal, Ravager Marakha Chaotic Middle Reshanta 80 Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30 Provisional
Guardian Lord Nahma Chaotic Lower and Middle Reshanta 65 / 80 Fri and Sun 21:00 Provisional

Killing the three Executors counts toward the “Dominator of Lower Abyss” achievement, and the three Middle Reshanta bosses toward “Dominator of Middle Abyss”. One guide warns that Ravager Marakha may not be live on Global yet. The Proof of Hero medals these bosses drop morph into Merit Chests that hold Abyss Points; every other source, and what the points buy, is in our AION 2 Abyss Points guide.

Which clock is “server time” on Global?

Each region’s own clock, for events like the Abyss bosses. questlog.gg and shugo.gg give every Global region its own clock: New York for NA East, Los Angeles for NA West, Berlin for Europe, São Paulo for Latin America and Tokyo for Asia. AllThingsHow and MetaBot instead put every region on one GMT+9 clock. Europe’s clock change on 25 October favored the regional clocks: NC ran a Europe maintenance with “adjustments” for the change from CEST to CET, which would not be needed on a fixed GMT+9 clock. So the Abyss boss times above stay at the same local hour in Europe, such as 21:30 Central European time for the Executors after the 21:00 Artifact Siege, and NA should follow when its clocks change on 1 November. The Spacetime Rift timer now uses these regional clocks. The daily and weekly reset is different: it stays at 07:00 UTC for every Global region, as our AION 2 reset time page explains.

Where does this world boss information come from?

Update history

  • Europe’s clocks went back and NC adjusted the Europe servers for the change from CEST to CET, which points to each region having its own server clock; updated the server time section and the Watcher Kaira answer.
