AION 2 Rift Timer: Next Spacetime Rift Countdown & Schedule (Global)
Live AION 2 Spacetime Rift timer for Global: countdown to the next rift on your server region’s clock in your local time, the daily schedule and how to enter.
FAQ

When does the next Spacetime Rift open?
The timer counts down to the next rift on your server region’s clock, shown in your local time. It guesses your region from your time zone, so pick another one if you play elsewhere. While a portal is taking entries, it switches to the time left to get in.
Next Spacetime Rift opens in
--:--:--
Global Spacetime Rifts open every 3 hours on your region’s server clock, at 02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00, 23:00 server time.
Community schedule, not published by NCSOFT; each server region runs on its own clock. Last checked 25 Oct 2026. Why?
Upcoming openings (your local time)
Turn on the reminder to get a browser notification 5 minutes before each opening; it works while this page stays open in a tab. For the daily and weekly reset, see our AION 2 reset time countdown; the site’s other timers and the Daevanion calculator are under All AION 2 tools.
What is the Global rift schedule?
Every 3 hours from 02:00 server time, eight times a day, on each region’s own clock. On your server’s clock the openings are always 02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00 and 23:00. In UTC they depend on the region, and Europe’s and NA’s move by an hour when their clocks change:
| Region | Server clock | Openings in UTC |
|---|---|---|
| Europe | Central European time | 01:00, 04:00 … 22:00 from 25 October (00:00, 03:00 … 21:00 in summer time) |
| NA East | New York time | 00:00, 03:00 … 21:00 until 1 November, then 01:00, 04:00 … 22:00 |
| NA West | Los Angeles time | 00:00, 03:00 … 21:00 until 1 November, then 01:00, 04:00 … 22:00 |
| Latin America | São Paulo time | 02:00, 05:00 … 23:00 |
| Asia | Tokyo time | 02:00, 05:00 … 23:00 |
So a player in Paris still sees rifts at 02:00, 05:00 and so on after the clock change, and a player in New York at 02:00, 05:00 and so on Eastern time. Between 25 October and 1 November, Europe’s and NA’s rifts fall an hour apart in UTC.
Why do rift timers disagree?
Because NCSOFT has not published the Global times, and timers chose different clocks. Three models are in use:
- Each region’s server clock, every 3 hours from 02:00: questlog.gg and shugo.gg. This is the model the timer above uses.
- A fixed UTC cycle, every 3 hours from 00:00 UTC: aion2atlas, which checked the live servers on 7 October 2026, aion2hub and aion2-wiki. MetaBot gets the same hours by putting every Global region on Korean time, and the French gaming site Playnews reported player observations of 02:00, 05:00 and so on in Paris summer time.
- The Korean clock, every 3 hours from 02:00 Korean time: aion2rifttimer.com and aion2timer.net, an hour before the UTC cycle.
During summer time the first two models gave the same hours for NA and Europe (02:00 in Berlin, New York and Los Angeles is 00:00, 06:00 and 09:00 UTC), so the October checks fit both. They split when the clocks change. On 25 October NC ran a Europe-only maintenance for the time zone change from CEST to CET, which would not be needed if Europe’s server clock were fixed to UTC or to Korean time. That is why this page now follows each region’s server clock.
Is the rift schedule the same on every server region?
No: each Global region runs on its own server clock, in questlog.gg’s and shugo.gg’s schedules: Europe on Berlin time, NA East on New York time, NA West on Los Angeles time, Latin America on São Paulo time and Asia on Tokyo time. Three cases are worth knowing:
- Asia servers: 02:00 Tokyo time is 17:00 UTC, an hour before the UTC cycle many timers use. Those are the same hours as the Korean-clock timers.
- Latin America servers: 02:00 São Paulo time is 05:00 UTC, also an hour before the UTC cycle.
- Europe and NA: the rifts stay at the same local hour when daylight saving time ends and move an hour later in UTC, Europe from 25 October and NA from 1 November.
We have not yet found an in-game report of a Europe rift after the clock change. If a portal opens at a different time on your server, please tell us with the correction button at the end of this page; one setting changes the whole timer.
How does the Spacetime Rift work?
A portal opens on your side of the map and takes you to the enemy faction’s land for one hour. According to Playnews, Asmodians cross to Verteron and Elyos to Altgard. The key numbers:
- Entry: about 10 minutes after each opening, by most reports; Playnews says only a few minutes. Entries are limited, and a counter at the portal shows the spots left.
- Time inside: a one-hour countdown that is individual to each character. When it runs out, you are sent home. Tickets add 10 or 30 minutes.
- Travel: fast travel does not work in enemy territory, so plan your route before you cross.
- Level: 45 and up.
In Korea, the December 2025 update shortened the interval from four hours to three and raised the cap from 200 to 400 players per opening, according to Korean gaming press. NCSOFT has not published the Global cap.
How do you enter the Spacetime Rift?
- Reach level 45.
- Choose your combat mode before you leave. You can only change it on your own faction’s territory, and there is a 70-minute wait between changes. In peaceful mode, enemy players cannot attack you and you cannot attack them.
- At the opening time, open the map and look for the swirl-shaped icon that marks the portal.
- Go to the portal and interact with it to cross. Arrive early: the spots fill up.
StingKnight’s short video shows what the portal looks like on the map and how entry works:

What can you do inside the rift?
Quests, dungeons, farming and, if you want it, PvP. The two guides we checked list the same activities:
- Rift quests. Playnews reports that the Asmodian chain comes from the merchant Uru and includes “Spacetime Rift”, “Unknown Species”, “Unfamiliar Material” and “An Honest Shugo”, each worth 2,000 Abyss Points, experience, about 21,000 to 58,000 Kinah and a piece of jewelry. The Elyos chain comes from Mino and includes “Beautiful Carapace”. Reports differ on how long each chain is.
- Sealed dungeons and garrisons. MeinMMO lists them as a source of Kinah, Abyss Points and enhancement stones. How the rift fits among all the Abyss Point sources is in our AION 2 Abyss Points guide.
- Farming resources and monsters in enemy territory, and green side quests.
- PvP, if you crossed with PvP mode on. Enemy outposts are guarded by NPCs that attack anyone who comes close.
The enemy zones also hold more Hidden Cubes, and pet souls you can’t farm at home. Our Hidden Cubes guide lists the teleport points with the most cube spots in each zone, and our AION 2 pets guide shows that 39 pets drop their souls in Altgard but not Verteron, and 44 in Verteron but not Altgard.
How do you get home from the rift?
Wait out the hour, die, or teleport. When your one-hour timer runs out, the game sends you back. Dying also returns you to your home continent. MeinMMO describes a third way: open the map with M, select the circle symbol at the top right, choose your home area (Altgard for Asmodians, Verteron for Elyos) and use a scroll to teleport to a fast travel point there.

Update history
- Europe ended daylight saving time, and NC adjusted the Europe servers for the change from CEST to CET, so rifts follow each region’s server clock. The timer now has a server region choice; Europe’s rifts open an hour later in UTC from 25 October, NA’s from 1 November.
- Added an open question: questlog.gg ties the rift to each region’s server clock, which would put Asia and Latin America servers an hour off this page’s times and shift openings by an hour in UTC when daylight saving time ends. We will check after 25 October.
