FAQ

What is the best Ranger PvP build in AION 2?
Two bars are in use. Most public PvP builds keep the PvE damage bar: Vaizel’s Authority, Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire and Griffon Arrow. For small-scale fights, whelps, whose Ranger builds are the most-liked on Global, runs Vaizel’s Authority with Mother Nature’s Breath, Sealing Arrow and Ambush Kick, and 16 public builds copy it.
Which Ranger stigmas does whelps use for each PvP mode?
For small fights, Vaizel’s Authority, Mother Nature’s Breath, Sealing Arrow and Ambush Kick. whelps’ notes add Stealth for solo Abyss play and Ensnaring Trap for the arena. For large-scale fights, whelps simply plays the PvE build with its three buffs and Explosive Arrow.
How does a Ranger stun in PvP?
Suppressing Arrow has a 40% chance to stun for 3 seconds, but only while Precision is active, and Precision comes from Marking Shot. Its level 12 option adds 20% Stun chance, which 9 of 15 public PvP builds take against 1% of other Ranger builds. Explosion Trap and Ambush Kick add more stuns.
What does Mother Nature’s Breath do in PvP?
In the client data it gives +10% PvP Damage Tolerance and +200 Critical Hit Resist for 6 seconds, with a 50% chance to turn 25% of the damage you take into HP. From level 5 it also removes damage-over-time effects and makes you immune to them. It is on 12% of all Ranger bars, but whelps’ PvP bar is built around it.
Should a Ranger take Stealth in PvP?
For solo roaming in the Abyss, whelps says it is pretty good. In the client data, Stealth lasts 10 seconds, your first hit from it crits from level 5, and it can only be used in combat from level 15. Only one of the 20 independent PvP builds slots it.

What is the best Ranger PvP build right now?

Keep the damage bar for most fights, or run whelps’ control bar for small ones. Unlike most classes, the typical PvP Ranger keeps the PvE stigmas. The one distinct PvP bar comes from whelps, whose Ranger builds are the most-liked on Global: “Ranger PvP Small Scale” trades three damage stigmas for a defensive buff, a Seal and a disengage.

Part Damage bar whelps’ small-scale bar
Stigmas Vaizel’s Authority, Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire, Griffon Arrow Vaizel’s Authority, Mother Nature’s Breath, Sealing Arrow, Ambush Kick
Who runs it Most independent PvP builds; jormundghandr’s “Ranger PvP - Global S1” whelps and 16 copies
Stuns Suppressing Arrow with Precision, Explosion Trap The same, plus Sealing Arrow’s Seal and Ambush Kick
Macro Snare Shot → Burst Arrow and Gale Arrow chains whelps: Snare Shot → Burst Arrow; Gale Arrow → Drill Dart → Tempest Shot
Swaps by mode — Stealth for solo Abyss, Ensnaring Trap for arena, the PvE build for large-scale fights

For the PvE side of the class, see the Ranger PvE build; every Ranger guide is listed on the Ranger builds hub.

Which stigmas should a Ranger use in PvP?

Vaizel’s Authority on every bar; the other three depend on the fight. Here is how often the 20 independent PvP builds slot each stigma, against all Ranger builds:

Stigma What it does (client data) 20 PvP builds All Ranger builds
Bow of Blessing +200 Critical Hit and +100 Accuracy for 10s 18 94%
Vaizel’s Authority +20% Attack for 10s 17 97%
Supporting Fire An orb that fires extra shots and absorbs HP for 15s 11 87%
Griffon Arrow Area Fire hit plus Crimson Flames damage over time, worse when the target moves 10 53%
Mother Nature’s Breath +10% PvP Damage Tolerance and +200 Critical Hit Resist for 6s; 50% chance to turn 25% of damage taken into HP 6 12%
Sealing Arrow 75% chance to Seal the target for 5s; Root chance from level 5 5 4%
Explosive Arrow Area Fire hit, +20% damage to slowed or rooted targets 5 45%
Ambush Kick Moves behind a target within 5m, knocks it back and moves you away 4 3%

The “All Ranger builds” column counts the 637 builds with stigmas on the bar among the first 891 public Ranger skill builds we read on 2026-10-16. Only one independent PvP build slots Stealth and one slots Ensnaring Trap.

The damage bar. jormundghandr’s “Ranger PvP - Global S1” (1 like, notes in Spanish) keeps Vaizel’s Authority, Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire and Griffon Arrow. The notes say those are the four that nearly every top Korean PvP Ranger carries. For more survival, the notes swap Griffon Arrow for Mother Nature’s Breath, and they name Ambush Kick and Stealth for when more stigma slots open. J0EI’s Ranger Masterclass suggests Mother Nature’s Breath and Ambush Kick, or Ensnaring Trap against melee classes.

whelps’ small-scale bar keeps only Vaizel’s Authority from the damage set:

  • Mother Nature’s Breath is the Ranger’s only defensive stigma. From level 5 it also removes damage-over-time effects and grants immunity to them for its duration.
  • Sealing Arrow seals the target for 5 seconds at a 75% chance, so it cannot cast. Level 10 also cuts the target’s Max Stamina by 1,000 for 5 seconds.
  • Ambush Kick is the disengage: it moves you behind a target within 5m, knocks it back and moves you away. From level 15 it can stun.

whelps’ notes give the swaps by mode: Stealth is pretty good in solo Abyss play, Ensnaring Trap is good in the arena, and for large-scale fights you just play the PvE build with three buffs and Explosive Arrow. In the client data, Ensnaring Trap launches enemies who step on it Airborne for 3 seconds, and from level 10 strips up to 2 buffs.

JOHNPAL’s Ultimate Ranger Guide (2026-10-17) explains the large-scale choice: with no big cooldowns, the Ranger keeps firing and racks up kills in the Abyss and battlegrounds. In small fights it is mobile but squishy, and many classes can close the gap on it.

How does the Ranger stun and root chain work?

Precision enables your stun, and a Slow or Root enables your burst. The client data links the Ranger’s control skills:

  1. Marking Shot moves you in the direction you are pressing and grants Precision for 10 seconds (+300 Critical Hit). Its level 12 option gives it a second use.
  2. Suppressing Arrow has a 40% chance to stun for 3 seconds, but only while Precision is active.
  3. Snare Shot slows up to 4 enemies by 40% for 5 seconds; its level 12 option adds the Shackling Arrow follow-up, and its level 16 option extends Slow and Root by 2 seconds.
  4. Burst Arrow only hits a target that is slowed or rooted, so it always goes after Snare Shot.
  5. Explosion Trap has a 40% chance to stun up to 4 enemies who step on it.

Most of these skills reach 20 meters, and jormundghandr sums up the Ranger’s PvP as kiting: slow, root and punish from 20m. The Rooting Eye passive adds damage against slowed or rooted targets, and Explosive Arrow hits them 20% harder.

Which specializations change for PvP?

Take the Stun options and the HP absorbs. These options move most between the 20 independent PvP builds and the 509 non-PvP Ranger builds we could read in full on 2026-10-16:

Skill PvP option PvP builds Other builds
Suppressing Arrow +20% Stun chance (level 12) 9 of 15 1%
Suppressing Arrow +1s Stun (level 8) 6 of 15 1%
Marking Shot Ignores Block and Evasion and crits (level 16) 8 of 20 2%
Marking Shot +1 consecutive use (level 12) 7 of 20 1%
Explosion Trap +20% Stun chance (level 12) 7 of 20 1%
Burst Arrow Absorbs 10% HP (level 8) 7 of 19 1%
Drill Dart Absorbs 3% HP (level 8) 10 of 19 12%

They give up the PvE options in return. Explosion Trap’s delayed extra damage, on 86% of other builds, is on 7 of 20 PvP builds, and its pull drops from 82% to 8 of 20. Marking Shot’s +5% Perfect Chance drops from 92% to 9 of 20.

whelps’ own picks follow the same pattern:

  • Suppressing Arrow at 12 with +20% Stun chance.
  • Marking Shot at 12 with a second use and a 30% chance to knock back.
  • Gale Arrow with a 50% chance to knock back.
  • Explosion Trap with +20% Stun chance.
  • Burst Arrow with the 10% HP absorb.
  • Snare Shot with the Shackling Arrow follow-up.
  • Snare Shot and Burst Arrow made Mobile, so you can cast them while moving.

jormundghandr’s build adds +1s Stun on Suppressing Arrow and Explosion Trap.

How should a Ranger set up the macro for PvP?

Two chains held with Snipe, and the burst and stuns by hand. whelps’ PvP macro has two chains: Snare Shot → Burst Arrow, and Gale Arrow → Drill Dart → Tempest Shot. jormundghandr’s notes describe the same idea in more detail:

  • Each key is a chain that fires its first ready skill, from the bottom up, so the skill with the longest cooldown goes first.
  • Hold the macro with Snipe, the basic attack: Burst Arrow → Suppressing Arrow → Snare Shot → Drill Dart, then Griffon Arrow, then Tempest Shot as filler.
  • The burst key holds Bow of Blessing → Supporting Fire → Vaizel’s Authority → Gale Arrow. Press it three times, then fire Deadshot.
  • Marking Shot (two uses), Explosion Trap and Defiance are pressed by hand.

12 of the 20 independent PvP builds have a macro, most often with Gale Arrow in it. The PvE chains and why Snare Shot comes before Burst Arrow are explained on the Ranger macro page.

What stats help a PvP Ranger?

jormundghandr’s notes give the PvP stat priorities:

  • Damage: Attack, Accuracy and Critical Hit.
  • Survival: crowd-control resistance (Status Effect Resist, Revitalization Contract and Unyielding Resolve) and HP. In the client data, Unyielding Resolve adds 11.2% Ailment-type and Impact-type Resist at level 1.
  • Evasion: from PvP Evasion manastones rather than sub-stats.

The notes add that the 10v10 battlegrounds normalize stats, while gear matters in the Abyss. The gear path itself is in the Ranger gear guide.

How should a Ranger spend Azphel points?

Lightly, so far. Azphel, the PvP Daevanion board, unlocks at level 45, uses its own point type and holds only PvP stats, Status Effect Chance and Resist, and a few Max HP and Max MP nodes. Its eight 4-point corners are 4 PvP Damage Boost and 4 PvP Damage Tolerance nodes. The public Ranger boards we found spend little on it:

Board Azphel points What it takes
whelps, “500/36 points” 36 2 PvP Damage Tolerance, then PvP Defense and Accuracy
whelps, “416” 36 2 PvP Damage Boost, Status Effect Resist and PvP Accuracy
kiliox94, Ranger board 22 No corners; PvP Attack and Critical Hit

The PvE boards are covered in the Ranger Daevanion guide.

Where does this build come from?

We have not tested this build in-game ourselves. It is compiled from these sources and checked against the skill data:

  • Skill, specialization and Daevanion data: the Global game client data behind questlog.gg’s planners (checked 2026-10-18).
  • whelps: the notes on “Ranger PvP Small Scale” (updated 2026-10-12) and the public Daevanion boards on questlog.gg.
  • jormundghandr: the notes on “Ranger PvP - Global S1” (updated 2026-10-07).
  • J0EI TV: Aion 2 Ranger Masterclass (2026-09-28).
  • JOHNPAL TV: The ULTIMATE Ranger Guide (2026-10-17).
  • Public PvP builds: the 41 public Global Ranger skill builds on questlog.gg named or tagged for PvP, searched on 2026-10-18. Shares count the 20 that slot stigmas and are not whelps’ build or its copies.
  • Comparison builds: stigma shares from the 637 builds with stigmas on the bar among the first 891 public Ranger skill builds (2026-10-16), and specialization shares from the 509 non-PvP Ranger builds we could read in full on the same day.

The claim that top Korean PvP Rangers carry the damage bar, the stat priorities and the battleground stat normalization come from jormundghandr’s notes, not from the client data.
