FAQ

What is the best Chanter macro in AION 2?
One chain: Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Impactful Crush → Incandescent Blow. 338 of the 491 public Global Chanter builds with a macro use it (69%), including the two most-liked Chanter macros on questlog.gg, mourasb’s “Chanters2” (77 likes on 26 October) and dimach’s PvE build (35). Hold it on right click with Onslaught on left click.
Why does Dark Crush go first in the Chanter macro?
Because Dark Crush can only be cast for 2 seconds after Spinning Strike or Impactful Crush, or 3 seconds after Marchutan’s Wrath. A chain casts the first skill in it that is ready, so with Dark Crush first, the macro fires it the moment a trigger unlocks it and falls back to the other skills the rest of the time. 469 of the 488 Chanter macros with Dark Crush put it first.
How does the Chanter macro change when Dark Crush reaches level 16?
Dark Crush’s level 16 option removes its cooldown, so every trigger can go into the chain. Before 16, Dark Crush can fire only once per cooldown, and only 40% of public builds with Dark Crush below 16 chain both Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush; Grobs and notXeon press Impactful Crush by hand. At 16 or higher, 97% chain both.
Should Onslaught be in the Chanter macro?
Most Chanters hold it on left click instead: 85% of public Chanter builds with a macro leave it out. Onslaught is the basic attack, it restores 100 MP per hit, and 88% of builds take its level 12 option that cuts 1 second off Spinning Strike’s cooldown per hit. The other 15% add it to the macro as a step of its own.
What is the best Chanter PvP macro?
The same chain as in PvE. 11 of the 20 public Chanter builds named for PvP with a macro use only Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Impactful Crush → Incandescent Blow. 12 of them take Marchutan’s Wrath to level 20 with its option that cuts enemy healing by 70%, and 17 keep it out of the macro, on its own key.

What is the best Chanter macro in AION 2?

One chain: Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Impactful Crush → Incandescent Blow. 338 of the 491 public Global Chanter builds with a macro use it (69%), including the two most-liked Chanter macros on questlog.gg: mourasb’s “Chanters2” (77 likes on 26 October) and dimach’s PvE build (35 likes). Here is what each skill does in the client data:

Order Skill What it does
1 Dark Crush Hits one target within 20m; can only be cast for 2 seconds after Spinning Strike or Impactful Crush
2 Spinning Strike Hits up to 4 enemies and raises your Critical Damage Boost by 15% for 30 seconds, stacking twice; unlocks Dark Crush
3 Impactful Crush Hits one target with a 60% chance to Stun (100% on monsters); unlocks Dark Crush
4 Incandescent Blow Hits up to 4 enemies within 4m

You hold the macro and your basic attack together. mourasb’s whole note on “Chanters2” is to hold left click and the right-click macro. .pruski adds that the first two skill-bar slots, Undefeated Mantra and Sprint Mantra, stay switched on at all times, so you only switch them on again after you die.

Chanter macros are short. 327 of the 491 (67%) have a single step, and 243 are nothing but this one chain. Another 62 add Onslaught as a second step, which is covered below. How chains and the macro key work for every class is in our AION 2 macro guide.

Why does Dark Crush go first in the chain?

Because it is only available for a moment. Dark Crush cannot be cast on its own: in the client data, Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush each unlock it for 2 seconds, and Marchutan’s Wrath and Ensnaring Mark for 3. A chain casts the first skill in it that is ready, so with Dark Crush at the front, the macro fires it the moment a trigger unlocks it, and falls back to the triggers and Incandescent Blow the rest of the time. lxstsxl’s build note gives the same reason: the chain lets Dark Crush be used whenever it is up.

469 of the 488 Chanter macros that include Dark Crush put it first in its chain. Its specializations show how central it is. Among those builds:

  • 91% take Critical Hit on hit (from skill level 8).
  • 83% take the Piercing Strike follow-up (level 12).
  • 77% take the level 16 option that removes Dark Crush’s cooldown.

How does the macro change when Dark Crush reaches 16?

Below 16, keep one trigger out; from 16, chain them all. With a cooldown, Dark Crush can fire only once per cooldown, so a second trigger right after the first wastes its window. That is why Grobs and notXeon press Impactful Crush by hand until Dark Crush reaches 16, as described in the Chanter PvE build.

The public builds split the same way:

Dark Crush level Builds Chain both Spinning Strike and Impactful Crush Most common macro
Below 16 57 23 (40%) Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Marchutan’s Wrath → Incandescent Blow (27)
16 or higher 430 418 (97%) Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Impactful Crush → Incandescent Blow (235)

The most common macro below 16 is Grobs’ leveling build: Dark Crush at level 12, Marchutan’s Wrath in the chain, and Impactful Crush left for your own key.

Builds with Dark Crush at 16 hold only two of those three specializations, so one has to wait. Of the 82 at level 16 to 19, 49 keep Critical Hit and no cooldown, as Grobs does in the level 45 build, and drop Piercing Strike for now; 8 keep Piercing Strike and no cooldown. At level 20, 315 of 348 builds take all three.

Should Marchutan’s Wrath go in the macro?

Grobs puts it there at level 45. The level 45 build changes the chain to Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Marchutan’s Wrath → Impactful Crush and drops Incandescent Blow from it. Marchutan’s Wrath is a stigma that hits up to 4 enemies within 4m and unlocks Dark Crush for 3 seconds, a second longer than the other triggers. lxstsxl’s note says to use it whenever you are not already unlocking Dark Crush another way.

Most players still keep it out. 89 of the 491 Chanter macros (18%) put Marchutan’s Wrath in the Dark Crush chain, and of the 411 builds with it on the skill bar, 127 put it in the macro at all. notXeon’s macro video, recorded before the Global launch, gives the reason players on the earlier servers left it out: you cannot move while casting it.

How do the top Chanter macros compare?

The most-liked Chanter macros on questlog.gg, with likes checked on 2026-10-26:

Build (author) Likes Macro What sets it apart
“Chanters2” (mourasb) 77 Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Impactful Crush → Incandescent Blow Hold left click with the right-click macro
“PvE” (dimach) 35 Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Impactful Crush → Incandescent Blow Dark Crush at 20 with all three options
“Chanter - Level 45” (Grobs) 26 Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Marchutan’s Wrath → Impactful Crush Dark Crush at 16 with Critical Hit and no cooldown
“Chanter - Leveling” (Grobs) 17 Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Marchutan’s Wrath → Incandescent Blow Dark Crush at 12; Impactful Crush by hand
“HT” (nicoht) 8 Wave Blow → Heat Wave Blow → Marchutan’s Wrath, then the standard chain A second chain of situational hits, ending in Marchutan’s Wrath
“Chanter dKingHD” (dKingHD) 2 The standard chain, then Gust Rampage → Wave Blow → Heat Wave Blow A second chain of situational hits; Onslaught on left click

dKingHD’s second chain holds the skills that only work in certain moments: Gust Rampage hits only a staggered target and Wave Blow only a stunned one. The macro skips them until their condition is met.

Should Onslaught go in the macro?

Most Chanters keep it on left click. Onslaught is the Chanter’s basic attack, and 414 of the 489 builds with it on the skill bar (85%) leave it out of the macro; dKingHD and mourasb both hold it on left click. The other 15% add it as a step of its own, usually before or after the main chain.

Either way, it earns its place. In the client data, Onslaught restores 100 MP per hit, and two of its options feed the macro:

  • Level 12: each hit cuts 1 second off Spinning Strike’s cooldown, so Dark Crush unlocks more often. 88% of builds take it.
  • Level 16: adds the Storm Chain follow-up. 75% take it.

notXeon adds that Onslaught’s animation can be cancelled by your next skill, so holding both buttons loses no time.

What should you keep out of the Chanter macro?

Your buffs, your heal and the hits that need a condition. Among Chanter builds with a macro that have each skill on their skill bar, these are the shares that leave it out:

Skill Kept out of the macro Why, from the client data and build notes
Recuperation 485 of 485 Party heal and cleanse; use it when the party loses HP
Undefeated Mantra 480 of 482 Party damage buff that stays switched on
Sprint Mantra 322 of 323 Move Speed and a chance to heal the party; stays switched on
Tremor Crush 98% Only works after a Dodge or while flying
Power of the Storm 98% 10-second burst: +20% Combat Speed and −20% cooldowns
Rushing Smash 97% Dash to the target; a macro dash can throw you into a boss attack
Gust Rampage 94% Only hits a staggered target
Wave Blow 93% Only hits a stunned target
Heat Wave Blow 89% Short-range hit that can Seal on Block

Power of the Storm needs timing in a group. lxstsxl’s note points out that it overlaps with other Chanters’ and Clerics’ buffs, and in the client data you cannot receive it while the Cleric’s Earth’s Blessing is active. Coordinate it with your party instead of letting the macro fire it.

What is the best Chanter PvP macro?

The same chain, with Marchutan’s Wrath on its own key. Only 20 public Chanter builds are named for PvP and have a macro, so treat these numbers as a small sample:

  • 11 of the 20 run the PvE chain unchanged, among them dimach’s PvP build (5 likes).
  • 12 take Marchutan’s Wrath to level 20 with its level 15 option, which cuts the enemy’s incoming healing and potion recovery by 70% for 10 seconds.
  • 17 keep Marchutan’s Wrath out of the macro, so you choose when that cut lands.

WallyJTV’s PvP build swaps Impactful Crush for Ensnaring Mark, a stigma with a 50% chance to Seal for 5 seconds that also unlocks Dark Crush for 3: Dark Crush → Spinning Strike → Ensnaring Mark, then Incandescent Blow as a second step.

What delay should a Chanter macro use?

10 ms. 117 of the 491 Chanter builds with a macro set a delay on at least one step, and 144 of those 161 steps use 10 ms. The AION 2 macro guide covers when to raise it for a slow connection.
