FAQ

What is the best DPS class in AION 2?
On Global, the Chanter. In questlog.gg’s combat logs for the week from 14 October, its median DPS on bosses was 24% above the median of all classes, and it held 31% of all top-10% parses. The Spiritmaster and Sorcerer follow, 19% and 16% above the median. The Chanter is a hybrid support class, so balance patches may change this.
Is the Assassin a top DPS class in AION 2?
Not on Global by the median. Its DPS index in the week from 14 October was 98, just under the median of all classes and sixth of eight, although its best 5% of parses reached 212, close to the Spiritmaster and Sorcerer at 220. MeinMMO and MTMMO both put the Assassin in A tier, judging mostly by top players or Korean data.
Why does the Chanter top the DPS charts?
The logs show that it does, not why. The Chanter is the hybrid support class, and its median DPS led every Global region in the weeks from 7 and 14 October and over all time on questlog.gg, as of 18 October. MTMMO calls the Chanter’s strength on Global an unintended imbalance that may be adjusted, so expect this to change with balance patches.
How is the DPS index calculated?
questlog.gg compares each class’s median DPS on a boss with the median of all classes on that boss, so 100 is the median and 120 means 20% above it. It uses boss kills uploaded with the questlog.gg desktop app; we combine the five Global regions, weighting each by its number of parses.
Where do healers and tanks rank?
The Templar, a tank, is fourth with a DPS index of 105, in A tier above the Ranger; the Gladiator is seventh at 92. The Cleric, the dedicated healer, is last at 69, as you would expect. In questlog.gg’s rDPS view, the Templar moves up to second and the Cleric to third, behind only the Chanter.

What is the best DPS class in AION 2?

On Global, the Chanter, followed by the Spiritmaster and Sorcerer. This tier list comes from combat logs, not from opinion: questlog.gg’s Class meta compares how each class performs on every boss in cleared dungeon runs that players upload with its desktop app. We combined its five Global regions for the week since the Wednesday reset on 14 October: 1,105,379 boss kills, or 3,304,273 parses (a parse is one player’s DPS on one kill). Grouped by their DPS index, the classes fall into four tiers:

Class Tier DPS index Top 10% share Played Best 5%
Chanter S 124 31% 16% 255
Spiritmaster S 119 11% 8% 220
Sorcerer S 116 14% 11% 220
Templar A 105 11% 11% 214
Ranger A 101 13% 15% 208
Assassin B 98 7% 8% 212
Gladiator B 92 9% 13% 198
Cleric C 69 3% 18% 147

DPS index by class, Global regions combined, week from 14 October (100 = the median on each boss); questlog.gg Class meta, read 2026-10-18

The tier lines are ours: S at an index of 115 or more, A from 100 to 115, B from 90 to 100 and C below 90. The other columns come from the same logs: Top 10% share is the share of each boss’s top 10% DPS that the class holds, Played its share of all players on boss kills, and Best 5% the DPS index of the class’s best 5% of parses.

Two things stand out. The Chanter, a support class, has the highest median and holds nearly a third of all top-10% parses. And below the Chanter, the best players of each class are close together: by their best 5% of parses, the Spiritmaster, Sorcerer, Templar, Ranger and Assassin all land between 208 and 220.

Is the DPS ranking the same on every server region?

Yes, almost exactly. Here is the DPS index and the rank of each class in each Global region in the week from 14 October:

Class NA East NA West Europe South America Asia
Chanter 124 (#1) 120 (#1) 124 (#1) 128 (#1) 123 (#1)
Spiritmaster 118 (#2) 119 (#2) 119 (#2) 122 (#2) 120 (#2)
Sorcerer 117 (#3) 115 (#3) 115 (#3) 116 (#3) 117 (#3)
Templar 104 (#4) 108 (#4) 105 (#4) 104 (#4) 106 (#4)
Ranger 102 (#5) 101 (#6) 102 (#5) 101 (#5) 98 (#5)
Assassin 100 (#6) 102 (#5) 98 (#6) 96 (#6) 96 (#6)
Gladiator 93 (#7) 95 (#7) 92 (#7) 92 (#7) 92 (#7)
Cleric 68 (#8) 70 (#8) 69 (#8) 66 (#8) 70 (#8)
Parses 411,996 105,516 1,976,852 462,153 347,756

Every region puts the Chanter first, the Spiritmaster second, the Sorcerer third, the Templar fourth and the Cleric last. The only swap is in NA West, where the Assassin edges past the Ranger, 102 to 101. Europe supplies about 60% of all parses, so it weighs most in the combined figures, but the four other regions together give the same order.

Has the DPS ranking changed since launch?

Barely. The combined Global index in the week from 14 October, the week before it and over all the logs questlog.gg held on 18 October, with each class’s rank:

Class Week from 14 Oct Week from 7 Oct All time
Chanter 124 (#1) 126 (#1) 125 (#1)
Spiritmaster 119 (#2) 116 (#3) 118 (#2)
Sorcerer 116 (#3) 119 (#2) 117 (#3)
Templar 105 (#4) 108 (#4) 106 (#4)
Ranger 101 (#5) 97 (#5) 99 (#5)
Assassin 98 (#6) 94 (#6) 96 (#6)
Gladiator 92 (#7) 90 (#7) 91 (#7)
Cleric 69 (#8) 73 (#8) 70 (#8)
Parses 3,304,273 1,999,615 5,379,485

The Chanter has led in every period and every region. The Sorcerer was second in the week from 7 October, and the Spiritmaster passed it the week after; the Ranger and Assassin both gained about four points on the week before, which took the Ranger back above 100. No other class changed places.

Where do the support classes rank in rDPS?

Higher. questlog.gg also offers an rDPS view of the same logs. It does not explain the metric on the page, so we report only the result: in rDPS, the order changes to Chanter, Templar, Cleric, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Gladiator, Ranger, Assassin.

Class rDPS index DPS index Rank: DPS → rDPS
Chanter 211 124 #1 → #1
Templar 127 105 #4 → #2
Cleric 104 69 #8 → #3
Sorcerer 94 116 #3 → #4
Spiritmaster 93 119 #2 → #5
Gladiator 83 92 #7 → #6
Ranger 78 101 #5 → #7
Assassin 72 98 #6 → #8

The Chanter’s lead grows to an index of 211, and it holds 74% of the top-10% rDPS parses. The Cleric is the dedicated healer, so its low personal DPS is expected; in the rDPS view it moves above every damage dealer.

How does this compare with other AION 2 tier lists?

Both put the Chanter in B tier; the Global logs put it first.

  • MeinMMO (Karsten Scholz, 13 October) has no S tier for damage dealers; it puts Assassin, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Ranger and Gladiator in A, Templar and Chanter in B and Cleric in C. Its tiers combine editorial judgment with an endgame DPS chart from the Asian servers.
  • MTMMO (13 October) ranks Sorcerer and Spiritmaster in S, Ranger and Assassin in A, Gladiator and Chanter in B, and Templar and Cleric in C, mainly from the top 100 players per boss on the Korean servers. It already notes that the Chanter is unusually strong on Global.

Both lists look at top players or Korean data. The logs above look at the median of every uploaded parse on Global, which is closer to what a typical player sees, and they put the Chanter first and the Assassin near the middle.

How is the DPS index measured?

The numbers come straight from questlog.gg’s Class meta, which builds them from boss kills in cleared dungeon runs:

  • DPS index: the class’s median DPS against each boss’s median over all classes. 100 is the median.
  • Top 10% share: the share of each boss’s top 10% DPS that the class holds.
  • Played: the share of all players on boss kills that are this class.
  • Best 5%: the DPS index of the class’s best 5% of parses.

Keep three limits in mind. The logs only include players who run the questlog.gg desktop app and upload their fights, who are likely to be more dedicated than average. A median says how a class does in typical hands, not what a perfect player can do with it. And balance patches can change the picture every few weeks; we read the logs on 2026-10-18. Since then, questlog.gg’s Class meta has returned server errors for every Global region, on its own site as well as through its data (checked on 19 and 26 October), so these are the latest Global figures we could read.

For how each class is built, see the Chanter, Spiritmaster, Sorcerer, Templar, Ranger, Assassin, Gladiator and Cleric build guides, or compare roles and weapons in our AION 2 classes overview.

Where does this DPS data come from?

Update history

  • questlog.gg’s Global combat-log statistics have returned server errors since 19 October, so the figures could not be refreshed. We dated every “this week” and “last week” to the weeks from 14 and 7 October, and say on the page that these are the latest figures available.
