AION 2 Stigma Guide: Slots, Stigma Shards, Levels and Best Stigmas

What are stigmas in AION 2?

A second set of 13 class skills, levelled with Stigma Shards instead of skill points. They sit on their own tab in the Skills window. You can learn as many as you have shards for, but only the ones registered to your stigma slots work, and you cannot swap them in combat, according to MetaBot. Stigmas level separately from your other skills: Daevanion boards add no levels to them, and their specializations switch on by themselves. When do stigmas unlock, and how many slots are there?

From level 22, with four slots by level 37. Every stigma needs character level 22 in the game data, and the first one also needs your third Ascension, from the quest The One Who Hears the Voice, whose reward includes 1 Stigma Shard. The slots then open with your level, in the client’s level table:

Four is the most Global gives you; J0EI and Allyria both say so, as our best Ranger build notes, and Korean stigma setups with more slots do not fit. GunghoGuns shows where to check: the level status window in your profile lists the slot count for each level.

How many Stigma Shards do you need?

75 to take one stigma from 1 to 20, and 300 for all four. Every stigma uses the same price curve in the game data, doubling every five levels:

Leveling to 45 gives 29 points and the Ascension reward 1, enough for four stigmas at level 5 and one at 10. The last five levels of a stigma cost more than the first fifteen together, which is why the class guides below push only one or a few to 20.

Where do you get Stigma Shards?

Mostly from three shops, each fed by its own currency. The full list, from MetaBot’s reading of the client:

All 200 Trade Shop shards cost 3,500,000 Abyss Points; how to earn them, and what else the shop sells, is in our AION 2 Abyss Points guide. MetaBot advises using the Special Growth Voucher before you buy shards, since it does nothing once your total passes 180.

How creators farm them. StingKnight (2026-10-08) uses all three shops: Abyss Points from the battlefield, the arenas, Abyss command quests and the five daily duty missions; Centuryroot Tokens from the Shugo Festival and the Dimensional Invasions, though he buys Daevanion crystals there first; and Phantasmal Fragments from Nightmare. Nobu (2026-10-12) calls the arenas the fastest route: 300 Abyss Points per match even when you lose, 500 when you win, in matches of one or two minutes. The Shugo Festival runs every hour on the hour, in questlog.gg’s and shugo.gg’s schedules.

What do stigma levels 5, 10, 15 and 20 unlock?

One specialization each, switched on automatically. Unlike your regular skills, you do not choose or slot stigma specializations; reaching the level is enough, and they stay on. The levels in between only raise the skill’s numbers, so most players stop on a multiple of five. The Gladiator’s Wrath Wave, for example, in the game data:

Read the level 15 and 20 lines before you commit shards: MetaBot notes that some turn a single-target skill into an area attack, cut a cooldown by 30 seconds or let you cast while moving. Our class guides list what each stigma gains, such as the Spiritmaster’s Spirit’s Benediction, which multiplies Spirit Strike by 1.5 from stigma level 10.

Can you reset stigmas?

Yes, and the shards come back. MetaBot reads the reset messages in the client as refunding a stigma’s Stigma Shard points, though the reset has its own cost and the game blocks resets you cannot pay for. GunghoGuns also says you can reset freely, so no pick is permanent. Test a stigma at levels 1 to 5, where a mistake costs at most 5 shards, before you put 40 into levels 16 to 20.

What comes after stigma level 20?

Superior Stigma Shards. The in-game tutorial says stigmas need Superior Stigma Shards from level 20 onward, and MetaBot finds stigma values listed up to level 25. According to MetaBot, each stigma you raise to 20 grants 1 Superior Stigma Shard, and the level table only starts handing them out at level 46, above Global’s current level cap of 45. For now, level 20 is the practical end for most players.
