FAQ

What is the best Spiritmaster macro in AION 2?
There are two. init.rb’s puts Cold Shock in one step and Jointstrike: Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion in another; 221 of the 400 public Global Spiritmaster builds with a macro use it (55%). Grobs’ runs Elemental Fusion → Earth, Water and Fire Spirit and Corrode → Curse → Dimensional Control → Combustion; it belongs to his “Spiritmaster - Leveling” (18 likes), and 22% of macros use it.
Why is Cold Shock in the Spiritmaster macro?
Cold Shock is the Spiritmaster’s basic attack, and it restores 100 MP per hit. 246 of the 400 Spiritmaster macros (62%) include it as a step of their own, the highest share of any class’s basic attack. aLuckyRO keeps it in the macro in the action combat mode so your MP keeps coming back; in the original targeting mode your character fires it between skills on its own once your attack speed is high.
Should Elemental Fusion go in the Spiritmaster macro?
Usually yes: it is in 387 of 400 Spiritmaster macros. Elemental Fusion can only be cast while you have Four Elements, which you build as your spirits use their skills, so the macro fires it the moment it is available. The exception is its level 12 charge option: aLuckyRO casts that version by hand, because a macro releases charge skills at once.
Should the macro summon the Spiritmaster’s spirits?
Most macros do: 80% include at least one spirit summon, usually ending on the Fire Spirit. The Ancient Spirit is the exception: 90% of builds with it keep it out of the macro. kraybex summons the Fire Spirit before the fight with no target locked, so it does not attack early, and the Ancient Spirit just before the pull, because the macro skills deal bonus damage with both spirits out.
What is the best Spiritmaster PvP macro?
Most public PvP builds reuse init.rb’s two steps: Cold Shock, and Jointstrike: Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion. init.rb’s “SM PVP variant” uses them, and 13 other public PvP builds copy it exactly. _tinto’s Abyss relic PvP build goes the other way: only Elemental Fusion and the Earth Spirit in the macro, with Curse, Fear, Seize Magic and the rest timed by hand.

What is the best Spiritmaster macro in AION 2?

One of two setups, init.rb’s or Grobs’. Of the 400 public Global Spiritmaster builds with a macro:

Setup Macro Share Best-known build
init.rb Cold Shock; Jointstrike: Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion 55% (221 builds) “SM PVE build Variant 1” (29 likes) and “Leveling 20 LVL” (18 likes)
Grobs Elemental Fusion → Water, Earth and Fire Spirit; Jointstrike: Corrode → Jointstrike: Curse → Dimensional Control → Combustion 22% (86 builds) “Spiritmaster - Leveling” (18 likes); his “Spiritmaster - Level 45” (26 likes) ran it until its 24 October update

Most Spiritmaster macros are two or three steps: 352 of the 400 (88%). How chains and the macro key work for every class is in our AION 2 macro guide. Here is what the macro skills do in the client data:

Skill What it does
Cold Shock Your basic attack: Water damage on one target, restores 100 MP
Jointstrike: Curse Hits up to 4 enemies with a damage over time that also makes them deal 10% less damage to you; your spirit joins the attack
Elemental Fusion Can only be cast while you have Four Elements, which you gain as your spirits use their skills
Dimensional Control Available for a moment each time a spirit uses its skill; hits up to 4 enemies, slows them and restores 100 MP
Combustion Fire damage on up to 4 enemies
Jointstrike: Corrode Stigma: for 20 seconds, the target takes 10% more damage from your spirit
The spirits Water restores 20 MP per hit, Earth draws the enemy’s attention, Fire rushes in and hits up to 4 enemies

Two of those skills wait on your spirits. Elemental Fusion needs Four Elements and Dimensional Control needs a spirit skill, so in a chain they fire the moment they become available and are skipped the rest of the time.

How do the two setups differ?

Where the spirits and Cold Shock go. init.rb’s leveling builds run only two steps, Cold Shock and the Curse chain, and leave the spirits to you. The level 45 and PvE builds add a third step for the spirits; “SM PVE build Variant 1” puts Corrode inside it, Water Spirit → Corrode → Earth Spirit → Fire Spirit, a chain in 21% of Spiritmaster macros.

Grobs builds it the other way round. Elemental Fusion leads the spirit chain, so it fires the moment Four Elements is ready and the summons fill the rest of that step, and the damage chain starts with Corrode. Cold Shock stays off the macro. The leveling build summons Earth, Water and Fire. The level 45 build, updated on 24 October, now runs Elemental Fusion → Earth Spirit → Wind Spirit twice, moves the Water and Fire Spirits into the Corrode chain (Water Spirit → Corrode → Jointstrike: Curse → Fire Spirit) and gives Dimensional Control → Combustion a step of its own; it also takes the Wind Spirit to 20. aLuckyRO also ends the spirit chain on the Fire Spirit, the one that attacks fastest, and repeats it because a summon sometimes misses.

Why is Cold Shock in the macro?

For the MP, and because of the targeting mode. Cold Shock is the Spiritmaster’s basic attack and restores 100 MP per hit. 246 of the 400 Spiritmaster macros (62%) include it as a step of its own, the highest share of any class’s basic attack: the other classes keep theirs in the macro in 1–15% of builds.

aLuckyRO gives the reason. In the action combat mode, Cold Shock in the macro keeps your MP coming back; in the original AION targeting mode, your character fires it between skills on its own once your attack speed is high. The players who keep it out hold it on left click instead: kraybex uses it there as an auto-attack to cancel animations, and dKingHD’s note is to hold left click with the macro.

Should Elemental Fusion go in the macro?

Usually yes; the charged version no. Elemental Fusion is in 387 of the 400 Spiritmaster macros. Because it can only be cast with Four Elements, the macro fires it as soon as you have them, and 55% of builds take its level 16 option with a 25% chance to regain Four Elements after the cast. 86% take +10 to all Element Boost on hit (level 8).

The exception is the level 12 option that turns it into a charge skill dealing up to 200% more damage. A macro releases a charge skill at once, so aLuckyRO keeps that option and casts Elemental Fusion by hand; in aLuckyRO’s test, removing the charge dropped a hit from about 21,000 damage to 7,000. Only 36 public builds take the charge option, and 35 of them still put Elemental Fusion in the macro. Grobs’ level 45 build and Tsuruf skip it and leave Fusion in the macro, as described in the Spiritmaster PvE build.

How do the top Spiritmaster macros compare?

The most-liked Spiritmaster macros on questlog.gg, with likes checked on 2026-10-26:

Build (author) Likes Macro What sets it apart
“SM PVE build Variant 1” (init.rb) 29 Water Spirit → Corrode → Earth Spirit → Fire Spirit; Cold Shock; Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion Spirits and Corrode in a third step
“Spiritmaster - Level 45” (Grobs) 26 Elemental Fusion → Earth Spirit → Wind Spirit, twice; Water Spirit → Corrode → Curse → Fire Spirit; Dimensional Control → Combustion Wind Spirit at 20; Elemental Fusion at 16 without the charge option. Updated 24 October
“Spiritmaster - Leveling” (Grobs) 18 Elemental Fusion → Earth → Water → Fire Spirit; Corrode → Curse → Dimensional Control → Combustion Elemental Fusion at 12 with the charge option
“Leveling 20 LVL” (init.rb) 18 Cold Shock; Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion The two-step base
“LVL 45 when complete all quests, etc.” (init.rb) 8 Cold Shock; Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion; Water → Earth → Fire Spirit 10 ms on the first two steps
“SM PVE build Variant 2” (init.rb) 8 Water → Earth → Fire Spirit; Cold Shock; Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion Flame Blessing in place of Destructive Attack

What should you keep out of the Spiritmaster macro?

Your Ancient Spirit, your buffs and your control. Among Spiritmaster builds with a macro that have each skill on their skill bar, these are the shares that leave it out:

Skill Kept out of the macro Why
Rapid Scattershot 312 of 316 Hits only a staggered target
Soul’s Cry 149 of 152 Fear; a control skill
Jointstrike: Destructive Attack 97% Stigma with 50 Stagger damage; saved for the boss’s Stagger bar
Summon: Ancient Spirit 90% 30-second stigma summon that grants Four Elements each time it uses its skill
Enhance: Spirit’s Benediction 90% Stigma buff: +20% PvE Damage Boost and +20% PvE Damage Tolerance
Flame Blessing 77% Stigma buff
Summon: Wind Spirit 72% Its skill heals you; Grobs’s level 45 build now puts it in the macro

The opener is where the Ancient Spirit and the buffs come in. kraybex presses the Fire Spirit summon before the fight with no target locked, so it does not attack early, and calls up the Ancient Spirit just before the tank pulls, then holds left click and the macro, because the macro skills deal bonus damage with both spirits out. battlelitany’s order is the same: buffs, two elemental spirits, the Ancient Spirit, then the macro, reapplying buffs and the Ancient Spirit as needed. Corrode is the one stigma most players do put in the macro: 216 of the 325 builds with it on the skill bar (66%).

What is the best Spiritmaster PvP macro?

Most PvP builds keep init.rb’s two steps. 22 of the 26 public Spiritmaster builds named for PvP have a macro, and init.rb’s “SM PVP variant” uses the same two steps as the leveling builds: Cold Shock, and Jointstrike: Curse → Elemental Fusion → Dimensional Control → Combustion. 13 other public PvP builds copy it exactly.

_tinto’s Abyss relic PvP build takes the opposite view: the macro holds only Elemental Fusion and the Earth Spirit, at 10 ms, and only when Four Elements is ready and the target is in range. Curse, Defiance, Soul’s Cry, Seize Magic, Cold Shock, Combustion and the stigmas are all timed by hand; the build is made for control and peeling in relic fights.

What delay should a Spiritmaster macro use?

10 ms, or more on a slow connection. 88 of the 400 Spiritmaster builds with a macro set a delay on at least one step, and 176 of those 189 steps use 10 ms. aLuckyRO uses 10 ms at a ping under 50 and 50 ms at 80–100, and Hemi also runs 50 ms. The AION 2 macro guide covers delays for every class.
