Where are the Hidden Cubes in AION 2?

In the four open-world zones, and nowhere on your map. Hidden Cubes do not spawn in Poeta, Ishalgen, the Abyss or dungeons. At any moment the server holds 206 of them, each on one of a fixed set of possible spots:

So only about one possible spot in 15 to 23 holds a cube at any time, and the cubes are shared by everyone on your server. When one is opened it disappears and comes back later, possibly on another spot in its group; the client data has no respawn timer. The cube and spot counts come from client data read by metabot.gg and Fextralife, and the spot counts match the map data on questlog.gg.

Which teleport points have the most cube spots nearby?

Start from the teleport points with the most spots around them. We took the 3,722 cube spots and the teleport points from questlog.gg’s map data and assigned every spot to its closest teleport point on the same map. The more spots cluster around a teleport point, the better your odds of finding a live cube after you arrive there. Data read on 2026-10-16.

Two of the top five sit in Aullaeu Village, which Fextralife also lists as Verteron’s densest area (115 spots).

Eltnen and Morheim have far fewer teleport points, so each one covers a bigger share of the zone. For the exact spots around a teleport point, open the Hidden Cube map on metabot.gg, which marks every possible spot.

How do you find a Hidden Cube?

Listen for it, and look where players rarely go. MeinMMO collected these tips from players:

• Turn down the music and the sounds of your character, wings and monsters so you can hear the cube. The feathers you collect for your amulet sound similar, so pick those up first.
• Look under water, on high ledges, and between or on top of rocks. Players report that cubes don’t float in the air.
• Search the wider area around a marked spot, since exact positions can vary slightly.
• Avoid the busiest hours. Cubes go to whoever arrives first, and evenings are the most crowded.

Through the Spacetime Rift you can also search the enemy faction’s zones for an hour.

Do you need a key to open a Hidden Cube?

In Verteron and Altgard, yes; in Eltnen and Morheim, no, but a key pays. The cubes show one of two prompts, according to Fextralife: “Cannot open without a key.” or “Use a key to get better rewards.” Each opening uses one key and takes a 4-second cast. Keep at least one key with you, because you rarely know when you’ll find a cube.

There are a few versions of the key: Key: Hidden Cube, which can’t be traded but can go into personal or guild storage; Key: Hidden Cube (Bound), from quests, achievements, Monoliths and shops; and timed bound keys that expire after 7, 10 or 30 days.

What rewards do Hidden Cubes give?

A key multiplies almost everything. Per opening, according to Fextralife:

Each pool also holds rarer items, rolled at random rather than all given at once: Resurrection Spiritstone, Status Effect Resist Scroll, Soul Codex: Reset, Radiant Love Wings, Emote: Kurukuru, Lucky Aura variants and cosmetic helm, earring and necklace skins. metabot.gg counts 36 possible rewards in total. Neither source publishes drop rates.

Which achievements reward Hidden Cubes?

“Who Brought the Chest?”, in seven tiers. You need 3, 10, 30, 50, 100, 150 and 200 openings. Each tier gives one key and Kinah, from 4,000 at tier I to 14,000 at tier VII, for 7 keys and 67,000 Kinah in total, with titles at tiers III and V. The “Today’s Luck” achievement pays 500 Kinah for opening one cube.
